I sent my packet today via USPS to the Chicago lockbox and sent it requiring a signature rather than just with tracking.

I just realized that if it is going to a lockbox there is probably no-one there to sign for it.

Have I royally messed this up? will they drop it in the lockbox without obtaining a signature?

What should I do?

I am asking because if you send it to the one for the express courier , you should be fine since an employee will receive the packages. but , if you send it to the pobox address, I am not sure , but may be other members have better experience

USCIS, P.O Box 805887, Chicago, Il, 60680

I did not send it via Express Courier which is why i am concerned. I doubt there is anyone at a P.O Box to sign it?

I sent mine to the Texas lock box(P.O. Box) requiring a signature.(not even thinking someone would not be there) But, in about 2 weeks, I got the little green card from the postoffice. There wasn't a signature on it, instead in the signature line it was stamped "USCIS Dallas LockBox 4-26-2012" so you should be fine.

Good luck on the rest of your journey :)

EDIT: I sent mine USPS priority, certified, registered mail... (forgot to put that in my original comment)

People with P.O. boxes supply a "signature on file" to use when letters need signature confirmation. http://faq.usps.com/eCustomer/iq/usps/request.do?create=kb:USPSFAQ&view()=c%5Bc_uspsjch02132012%5D&varset(source)=sourceType:embedded#signature
