Classes are getting me Nuts. I just found out I don't have any classes that day... Lol the semester is over exactly the day before any suggestion?

I am going to make an info pass to see if they still schedule me for that day...

Congratulations coloso! I was going to suggest to take a day off. I am somewhat in the same boat, and can understand the frustration. That too, when you are bracing for finals. It would be a good idea to make an info pass and request them to consider you for the earlier offered oath date. Once again, I am happy, another one of has reached it's destination. Don't drink, but I,ll raise a coke to your success.

Thank you PathaN for understanding My goodness I went to the interview without a letters indicated in the directions, but she didn't ask for anything thanks God, I got there 8:40, when I thought the interview was at 8:30 but it really was at 8:00. The officer told me I was late my mind is just somewhere else... I am having 16 credits of graduate Guys I am going nutsss aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!

I admitted that I should probably go downstairs which I didn't know. Then they talk between each other after I went down stairs. They asked me for my documentation and 15 to 20 minutes later they came down with a Oath letter...

I on my way to get ready for the Oath I will have to bring the Green Card and probably were some nice clothes. I am concern as of when I can petition for my father? can I do it from now?

That was my experience today.

Sure you can .... After you get your Naturalization certificate.

Our daughter who is a US citizen sponsered us in the last week of Jul/2007 and we got our Green cards in the first week of Dec/2007.

Great News Coloso. Another two weeks for you and you are done. As far as petitioning for you parents is concerned, the moment you take your oath and have your Naturalization certificate in your hand, you can petition for them. Don't forget to update your citizenship status with the DMV and the Social Security office. Probably after a week or so. Once again, Congrats!

Yes. You will need to show certain amount of income to sponsor your father for the purpose of I-864, but if you can find someone else to sponsor your father if you don't have any income or don't make enough/required income. That person would be considered a joint sponsor and s/he must be either a US Citizen or a green card holder, 18 years old at least and must be residing in the United States. If you do have enough assets then you can use your assets in lieu of income if you don't have income or don't make enough money.

My wife received her Oath Notice today in the mail wherein she is asked to appear for her Oath at US Eastern District Court in Brooklyn on November 27, 2012 which is on coming Tuesday. This is a complete surprise to us because I know that most of the time USCIS arranges an Oath after 3-4 weeks after receiving the mail, but here she is given only 4-5 days. It's good but very unusual. Oath notice came from local USCIS office in Long Island city in NYC where she had her interview on November 9, 2012...a few days ago, and it was a photocopy and not the original oath notice which is also a surprise because normally USCIS do send original Oath notice and keeps the copy in the file. Perhaps a mistake is made in this respect by the clerk who mailed out this Oath notice. She is asked to appear at the courthouse early in the morning at 8:30am. Didn't expect for her to have the Oath date so soon. Wow!!! One more chapter left in her life to be done with USCIS for good and which is just within 5 days.....It's been a bumpy ride and I stayed on the top of each of her application and handled everything you name it from beginning to end, including driving direction to preparing her for everything in addition to her make-up at the time of all these interview and clothing etc...etc....I just wanted her to get succeed in this ordeal and we did. It's just a feeling of accomplishing something so smoothly and nicely on a timely manner.

Will update you when she would become a US citizen in 5 days....

Thanks. Yup, it's really a great news for both of us especially when she would have enough time to get her US passport to celebrate Xmas with her family in Canada; otherwise she was so worried as to how she would go there if her oath date would be close to that time and all other nine yards. She gets so worried for little-little thing.....perhaps its all about her young and tender age, I guess....
