At the begining it feels great (the point of conversion, now It feels living as a normal person without any worries or fears for many reasons

I feel safer than when I was a peremanent resident, I am US citizen, this is my country. No one can kick me out or tell me I am (an align any more)

It gives me more flexibility when it come to applying for federal jobs, and security clearence based jobs.

It gives me more flexibility to travel without any worries like (GC SOON TO EXPIRE, LOST ETC ETC ) as well as the fact that the passport itself gives you alot of advantages.

The benefit of being able to bring the family members here is REALLY a big deal, and many enjoy it.

I am not worried any more about USCIS(this is a BIG one), looking back and remembering the money spent, the worries I experienced from the minute the package went out all the way to the final decision and the grant of the benefits made me appreciate becoming a US citizen and how difficult such a trip was.

Right now I feel totally normal and USCIS became something from the past.... So you will celebrate after the oath, passport and changing your data here and there. But then, you are back to the boring life again, nothing interesting to do anymore :D

What a beutiful definition no_where_man certainly can imagine that the worries goes away, You don't have to go through a special door at the airport, not reporting the USCIS everytime you move, The benefit of bringing hour family here, And working anywhere you want without worrying to report that... Not having people to belittle you saying you are a alien or so.... And all this things I can imagine. ANd like you say I would liek to see how is the Conversation after that because I can imagine now that you can testify you are a US citizen people respect you more can you elaborate on a couple of your experiences and how it is different now?

Thank you no_where_man.

I didn't have personal experiences yet that showed the benefits of being a US citizen. But I am sure that I will when I am at the airport or decided to travel to any other country .

But the immediate effect is the fact that when you are asked at an application or school or work, you can be so confident when you say I am a US citizen.

Well, I am in school now, hopefully within 4 months to make a visit to Egypt, Canada and France (in one big trip).

Medicine school alone is kicking my behind, so I really have to press the brakes soon and take sometime off to enjoy and stay away of stress otherwise I will go nut.

Once I start my trip this will be my first real experience with the US passport, I am excited about that I must tell.

Glad to see the most important part is done now!! Congratulations! They didnt tell you to wait for your Oath Ceremony appointment letter? It seems everyone was waiting for it when I went. What officer did you get? I guess by the way it went, it wasn't the Asian officer. =)

I got a lady officer in a wheel chair.

Well, glad you did well.

My Oath Ceremony is next week on Wednesday. Hope your is also soon!

I passed the test!

I had a nice officer who seemed to be not really interested in any details, so she just was polite, ask standard questions (she even missed some of them), didn't ask any extra papers to prove marriage. Then civic/history test with pretty simple questions (test form #5): four amendments who can vote, who is in charge of executive branch, main concern during the cold war, one right from first amendment, reason colonists came, and who become president if he can't serve. English: she said to choose any sentence from the card, I read: What state has the most people? and she said very clearly the answer, so if you are good with grammar, don't worry about this part of the test.

Then she said my case has been recommended for approval, gave me the notice, and said the Oath will be probably at Detroit (this can be important for other Michiganders: they use different courts for different counties, and somehow my county from the North-East goes to Detroit court), and I should have the letter-invitation in 30 days.

So nice to pass it!

Hope the rest of us in this tread will finish soon too, let's say - before New Year!

Atlanta filers - there's some movement. Some of the May filers are getting their letters. With that I'm guesstimating that ours will come within about a month, depending on when we filed. I filed at the end of June. At least that gives us something to weigh when trying to figure out when it all happens. That might mean interviews after the first of the year. Glad I got my passport stamped :)

I get this lady too! Isn't she nice? I mean, no questions outside the form, no extra interest and no suspicions. Miss Asian took somebody after me: I was so relieved when saw it...

I have been told to wait for letter, and she said I probably will be invited to Detroit for the Oath.

I can't not believe I am 17 days away from interview...

it will go very fast :)
