I will have my interview Tuesday as well, I am excited to finally get the pre-final step taken care of.

Once I get back I will share my experience.

I do not have any tips, but as for me, I made sure that I have everything that can be asked, almost everytrhing not to leave any excuse for the officer.

Ohh MayLiana72! Sorry about having such late interview! I know you wanted to vote! Yes, I guess I won blush.gif... for now. Who knows about oath ceremony which is what I am impatiently waiting for. My immigration journey will not be done yet. As soon as I receive any paper that confirms I am a citizen I will be applying to bring my father over. It has been my dream for a very long time and I have been looking forward to THIS one day for it seems like forever.

I am not changing my name. I have decided to leave it how it is. Anyways, I am so excited about Tuesday and thanks for the tips! I will let you know if I get the Asian woman. Somehow as soon as you mentioned Asian I thought about Christina from Grey's Anatomy and how stern she is. lol Anyhow, wish me luck , you guys! I am sooo happy! And dont worry, you are not the only one driving at 4. I am too! My appointment is at 11:00am.

Yes, I wanted to vote; maybe my husband wanted it even more for me, he is so sad now.

I will change name, so I know I will wait long before the Oath. Hope to finish before Christmas!

Good luck to you, with an interview and with you father. I am late to do it for my parents, I lost them both, but when I will be a citizen, I will try to put in the line my older sister. It can take a decade of waiting for sibling.

I will cross fingers and wait for your report tomorrow or Wednesday.

Good luck for no_where_man too!

shefellfromheaven, thanks!

If he was born in the USA you can always obtain it's legal copy. Do you have any other documents what he is a citizen?

Just got back from my interview.

Officer was really nice decent male, went through all the application, and made a correction.

He asked to see tax transcripts, joint loans, health insurace and he made a copy of all of them.

When I got in his office I noticed that the interview results for my application is ready with (passed civic/test and USCIS will send you the decision in mail marked).

Once we finished the interview, he asked me to confirm my details that will be in the certificate, then he gave me the interview result sheet that I just mentioned. Neither CONGRATULATION.....................or USCIS CANNOT .................is marked.

He told me nothing to worry its just a generic paper, everything looks good and we will send you the oath letter in the mail.

I told him about the voting deadline and if there is a chance I can get an oath letter before Oct 6. He told me he will put it to be processed ASAP and hopefully to get into the Oct 4 cermoney (and pointed to the building on his back where the cermony will be held)

I guess overall it was succeful interview and nice officer

Once I hear back I will update.

Good luck everyone :)

Hi! I'm also a NYC'er, IL since 07/30. I placed a service request last Friday and my status was updated on Monday 09/24th to "scheduled for interview" and that i should be expecting an interview letter within 30days . I think it might worth giving them a call. Good luck!

Just came out of my interview.. It was tough and it was my fault! My license was from Arizona and I live in Michigan. I spent about half hour explaining why I didnt have a license from my current state.. Long story short, the lady was very nice and told me she would be checking on me later... And reccomended for citizenship. My approval paper says: congratulations! And also: you have passed the test.

My questions were:

What state borders Mexico?

Who wrote the declaration of independence?

Who is the commander in chief of the army?

And three more i dont remember.

Then she says congratulations, your oath ceremony will be Nov. 15.

Finally!!! This part of my life is done!
