:D I agree on that, man, you are being to soft on them.

I do recall calling once and a customer service person was rude to me for no reason, and when I asked to get transfered she refused saying I should wait. I have a bad habit that when I am challenged I get stubborn specially if I know I have a right. I told her, I need to be transfered to an officer now, I will not wait a min. I was transfered right away no questions.

Try again.............

No_Where man My case was just like you have described, Most of the time they won't want to transfer to a tier2 you have to make them lol. SR are very but very helpful you should push and push until you get that SR through.

I don't like being mean. I do customer service - I don't like being on the receiving end of a pile of #######. Of course I also own my business so the proverbial buck stops with me. I also know that being a jerk doesn't curry any favour with people either. It's just not in my nature, and I don't take it very well, so I don't like to dish it out either. I don't see the point in going haywire on them just yet. I'll call tomorrow when "their" 90 days is up and if the first person on the phone just reads a script again, I'll ask for Tier 2. I'm sure they have their hands full right now with all the office closures and others who had interviews and oaths scheduled in areas affected by the hurricane. I'll get it sorted - I'm just not panicking yet. My eagerness to get this over with pales by comparison with the other urgent matters happening in the country at the moment.

I can tell it :) We will wait any news from you, tomorrow - if a half of the country will not go without electricity. One hour ago I started to feel that Frankenstorm. Not so much as in New York, but my roof is counting tens of branches from the neighbor's three. Checking how much water, food, blankets and batteries we have...

We've had wind for 2 days, rain yesterday (not too bad on the rain) - all effects from Sandy. Wind supposed to continue tomorrow. Nowhere near as serious as the eastern seaboard - I've been watching all afternoon/evening on TV. Worried about family and friends affected. Hope they all stay safe.

Here's today's update. Called again - this time the first tier rep was much more helpful. She was able to access my August 31st inquiry, understood what I was saying when during the 15 days, the "30 days" on the website, changed to "90 days" - which the website still reflects as of now - 90 days from July 30th.

She said that USCIS sent an email reply to me on Sept. 4th - which I never received - and I was checking my spam filter (my spam filter deletes stuff after 30 days, so if I missed it in there, it's gone now). The email basically said that if I don't get an interview within 90 days of SEPTEMBER 4th... to call. :( That puts us to December 4th. That date is also just over the 5-month mark since I filed. Since IL usually come with an interview date a month out, that puts me in a tricky situation.

I explained the issue of my GC (and driver's license) expiring on January 3rd. She read off the information about renewing my Green Card. (for a fee!) I applied with a hair over 6 months left on the Green Card (priority date is 6 months + 1 day left on the GC, I filed it 6 months + 4 days before the GC expires). So according to their own rules, I shouldn't have to pay to renew, because I did indeed have more than 6 months left on the card. Since the processing time should be 5 months, that gives a month of leeway... in theory.

She suggested booking an Infopass appointment. She was polite and sympathetic to me - more so than yesterday's agent, for sure. She said that at Infopass they may be able to give me an extension on the GC (which means I can renew my DL but it's going to probably cost me each time... I already paid full price for a 5 month license, I'll likely have to pay full price again for another temporary... then yet again for a "real" one that citizens get). It's not that much money but GA is making us jump through hoops these days. Used to be I always had to go to the DMV in person with my GC etc., but now they are making EVERYONE do it... no more online/mail renewals for regular citizens, bringing all kinds of documents to prove identity/residency etc., so the DMV has been a nightmare since July 1st when they implemented the new rules. I've already had to do that once - looks like I may have to do it twice more.

So that's where I'm at. I can either book an Infopass right away and see where that gets me, or sit tight and wait a bit longer to see if the IL comes. I think I'll probably at least do an Infopass - that seems like the safer bet at this point. And with the Holidays coming up I don't expect the DO to speed up anytime soon.

It almost seems like I was penalized for making the inquiry after the first 30 days, because when they replied, the restarted the 90-day clock, from July 30th, to Sept. 4th - over a month. That doesn't seem right.

Letting it sink in for a bit - then I guess I'll make the Infopass appointment. That will eat up a day, a lot of gas... lost time/income. Oy.

Grasshoppr I think, in your boots, I'd definitely be doing an infopass as soon as possible....

Suck up the time and the gas...it's worth it, to be able to sit in front of a person, rather than a faceless being on a phone line....Explain my dilemma, and see what they can do....At least you can ask questions etc, without feeling you're bothering people (As I've always felt when calling the no-help line!)

Nothing in my post today either.....doesn't surprise me....but peeves me to look on the September filers, (over 2 months after me!) and see they've got interview dates!! (BTW, not in Atlanta!!)

Let us know how you get on.....and good luck!!! :)

Yeah, you're right. Once the smoke coming from my ears clears, I'll book it. Today. Just rots my socks that I've followed procedure and it seems I got penalized for it.

On the Trackitt.com site, nobody has updated in ATL with an IL since 10/19. That puts interviews at the end of November, Thanksgiving and the Christmas holidays looming and I can't see things speeding up any time soon.

Kicking myself for not filing earlier in the year... but I can't fix that now. Hindsight being 20/20 and all that. Just frustrated, is all. Theoretically I could be scheduled any time now... same with you. OR we might wait in limbo for who knows how much longer? Looking at the tracker, most who have received IL have received it within 90 days of FP. There are a few who filed before me, middle and end of May (on Trackitt) who are still waiting, they are just over 3 months since FP were done, but a few since then are already sworn in. I keep thinking that we'll be in the next "batch"...

Maybe if I book an Infopass the IL will be processed and sent before the appointment LOL! (I wouldn't grumble about that). *Sigh* why can't things just go as planned? I suppose it's better to know than not know, but that call wasn't what I wanted to hear today.

On the Infopass scheduling page, I'm not sure which option I need to choose:

If your case has a receipt number, you can check the status.

We offer 4 kinds of appointments for a case that you have already filed. Please choose from the following -

Order from Immigration Court - If you were directed to us for processing based on an order from the Immigration Judge. You must bring all documents required in the post order instructions given to you by the court.

Case Processing Appointment - If you received a notice to go to your local office for further case processing.

EAD inquiry appointment - If your I-765 employment authorization application has been pending for more than 90 days.

Case Services follow-up appointment - If it has been over 45 days since you contacted NCSC and have not received a response to your inquiry. You must bring the Service Request ID Number related to your inquiry to the appointment.

None of these applies... which one do I choose? I clicked the "other services" link... that didn't give me much either. Help? :)

I think I figured it out - the last one ... over 45 days. They gave me 2 choices - today or tomorrow. Today won't work for me so I'll go at 10:15 tomorrow (hope that works for my better half who will have to cover for me at work.) I guess I'll have more to report at this time tomorrow.

Hi, I had my biometrics in July then yesterday I received a yellow notice requesting that i take 3 years worth of tax returns to my interview. I submitted this paperowork with my N400.

I do not have an interview date. Is this a standard letter? Has anyone else had this letter. I attempted to contact customer services but they really were no help. We will be moving states December (military move) I really would love this to be sorted out by then so things to not have to change offices.

If any one could shed some light I would be grateful.

Thanks

Angela

Yup, that is the standard letter...just go to IRS website and request tax transcripts. I got them within few weeks. They didn't even ask for them at the interview, but who knows...better safe than sorry.
