N-400 Journey

June 9th 2012 - Application sent

June 14th 2012 - NOA sent

June 28th - Biometrics letter sent -- July 26th Appointment date

July 12th 2012 - Early Biometrics/Walk-in

August ( ) - Interview letter received -- September 14th Interview date

September 14th 2012 - Interview! Oath date in hand, September 20th @ noon!

Congratulations to Beantownbabe, Naksah, toa, ddart1!! :dance::dance::dance:

I know that everyone's journey is different (in how long it takes to be approved)... but for me, i have found that this process (N-400) has been the fastest one to go through (out of K1, AOS, ROC etc) ROC was the longest, waiting 10 months and then being called in for an interview and also had to go to an interview for AOS.

Hope those still waiting for interview dates will hear something very very soon!!

ROC

06/01/2011 - Mailed ROC package to CSC

06/02/2011 - Package arrived and signed for at CSC

06/02/2011 - NOA receipt date

06/06/2011 - Check cashed

06/07/2011 - NOA arrived in the mail

06/15/2011 - Biometrics appointment letter arrived in the mail

07/11/2011 - Biometrics appointment

02/02/2012 - Phoned USCIS and put in a service request

02/08/2012 - Email from USCIS confirming my request

02/11/2012 - Letter from USCIS - says i should receive news within 30 days

03/14/2012 - Phoned USCIS again. 30 days has passed. no news. Took details again.

03/15/2012 -Received letter from USCIS - have to go to interview April 24th

04/24/2012 - Interview and ROC approved!!

05/07/2012 - Received email, card production ordered

05/11/2012 - Green card arrived

N-400

06/22/2012 - Mailed N-400 package to Phoenix/AZ Lockbox

06/26/2012 - NOA date

06/28/2012 - Check cashed

06/29/2012 - NOA arrived in the mail

07/02/2012 - Biometrics appointment letter arrived in mail

07/19/2012 - Biometrics appointment

07/30/2012 - Received text +email. Application placed in line for interview

07/30/2012 - Received text +email in evening - interview letter sent

08/03/2012 - Received interview letter

09/19/2012 - Interview - passed interview/test!!

10/24/2012 - Oath Ceremony!

Got an interview letter, November 1, 8.30AM

Good because I have it finally, today is 3 months exactly from my file date, or 74 days from the biometric, 32 days from "in-line for scheduling" status and 4 days from "you scheduled" status. Good because I don't have to study new names for the test.

Bad because I will have to get up and go around 4AM (Detroit likes to appoint early times for those who lives far, and around noon for those who lives at Detroit area); no voting this year; and next my driving for the Oath probably will be at Winter, and I hate slippery roads.

Ilarrotta, I guess you win our race :) Good luck to you on the interview next week!

Anyway,my interview was today at 7,,45 AM.Everything went as hoped and hubby and i were in and out in less than expected.

Interviewer said it might take three weeks to two months for oath letter.I hope it takes less than that time.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!! My interview is coming up this Tuesday and I am so nervous and excited at the same time! Can anyone give me some last minute tips, advice on what papers to take with me, or any other advice?

I wrote you - you won our race :) Are you going to change your name? My version that they let be first for those who don't change their names, therefore I have my interview at November :angry:

One woman was in her interview September 6, Detroit. Advice from her: Don't be late. If your officer will be an hysterical woman (she looks like Asian), be calm and confident, and don't answer the question if you don't understand - she is speaking not clearly. All of the rest will be okay. Good luck!

The girl who filed in May will go to the interview after you, at Wednesday.

Ohh MayLiana72! Sorry about having such late interview! I know you wanted to vote! Yes, I guess I won blush.gif... for now. Who knows about oath ceremony which is what I am impatiently waiting for. My immigration journey will not be done yet. As soon as I receive any paper that confirms I am a citizen I will be applying to bring my father over. It has been my dream for a very long time and I have been looking forward to THIS one day for it seems like forever.

I am not changing my name. I have decided to leave it how it is. Anyways, I am so excited about Tuesday and thanks for the tips! I will let you know if I get the Asian woman. Somehow as soon as you mentioned Asian I thought about Christina from Grey's Anatomy and how stern she is. lol Anyhow, wish me luck , you guys! I am sooo happy! And dont worry, you are not the only one driving at 4. I am too! My appointment is at 11:00am.
