From the interview:

Interviewer: "Who interviewed you for this job?'

Woman: "Em, Mrs Susan Meyer, and Mr Smith"

"And you were interviewed by Mr Smith? And you were wearing the veil then, were you?"

[4 second pause]

"Um...Do I have to answer all the questions?"

"Um, it's not compulsory, but it's very interesting to know whether you were prepared to meet, presumably a Governor of the school, a male governor of the school, if you let him see your face, but you subsequently changed your mind about letting other men see your face,connected with the school."

[2 second pause]

"um, I don't really have much of a comment to say about anything, because, um, that I was, um..."

"were you interviewed face to face by a male governor of the school for this job?"

[2 second pause]

"Pardon?"

"were you interviewed face to face by a male governor of the school for this job, when they were interviewing you, to assess your suitability for this job?"

[3 second pause]

"um"

"was a man in the same room as you, interviewing you for the job? it's a simple question!"

"yes, there was a male, but it was just like, for five minutes I did, I had a, plus I was, em, uh, em interviewed by a female (something... missed it, sorry)"

"And you did not wear a veil for that interview?"

"um, no".

Apart from the fact her clothing gave me cause to double-take and be quite startled (I have sympathy with how hard it must have been for the kids in her class), her avoidance of the question fuels my suspicion that this is solely for 15 minutes of fame, and for her own personal amusement. There was nothing in the interview that led me to believe she was treated unfairly, and in fact, her answers, or rather avoidance of the answers, told me more than enough.

She is just playing a warped, and silly game, and should be treated as such. IMHO!

You know... all the comments about her clothing being scary or repulsive or anything is just uncalled for. You don't like the idea of a veiled woman teaching children that's fine but name-calling and and making a big to-do about it is just juvenile.
