She stated in the first interview that she never stated she would nor refused to remove the veil in front of the children ... only that she would need to wear it in front of male staff.

You're right, she did say that. So again, what is the issue exactly?

But she obviously did wear it in front of the children, at least they complained about not being able to understand her...

"Aishah Azmi, 24, was asked to take it off in class after pupils said they found English lessons hard to understand because they could not see her lips move.

The junior school in Dewsbury, West Yorks, said she could wear her veil in corridors and the staff room - but must remove it when teaching. Angry Miss Azmi refused, claiming the veil was part of her cultural identity, and was suspended." (quote from the first post)

So then she was lying in the interview (that is, if I understood what she was saying correctly). If what she said in the interview is true, I don't see why this is newsworthy.

Maybe there was a man in the room... or male teachers were coming in and out of the room unannounced while she was teaching?

Please do tell us how you feel after running and playing sports all day when you've had nothing to drink.

How is it that American Muslim pro basketball players do it all the time?

Well, their games are usually at night, right?

awesome excuse! seriously... did you gloss over the bolded part? missed it? here..

but must remove it when teaching. Angry Miss Azmi refused

ah yes.... the ole interview without it.... but then stand n sue when she refuses to uphold her end of the bargain and claim its cultural (note not religious)... so now.. she not only applied at a place where she KNEW would be different than her cultural identity (but its ok to interview without it) and then break an agreement (teach class while wearing it) and then... maybe.. just maybe there are men walking about outside in the hall.. where she can wear it according to her agreement with the school (accepted the job according to terms).

that is the issue... she broke agreement, and is ticked when they enforce the rules of agreement and is looking for an out. "its cultural" or even better.. "its religious"

Does that include the guy who interviewed her?

She was reluctant to talk about that in the interview I saw....

how long has she been wearing the veil?

Did she take it off for the interview just to get the job or did she either convert to Islam after she was working there or begin wearing the veil only after the interview? This is a possibility.

Plenty of men saw parts I now cover before Islam... doesn't mean they're gonna see it now ;)

She looks pretty scary in that veil. Brings back the memories of those disgustingly horrible

Islamic videos of armed masked men beheading captured U.S. soldiers. Certainly gives me

the chills, and I'm not a child. Darth Vader is an angel compared to her.
