Hello, everyone! :star:

Hope it's okay to join in on this thread. I sent in my AOS package on June 1st. Thanks to the awesome guides and resourceful people of VJ, my application has been moving smoothly so far. I probably sent more documents than what was needed but I made sure that the sections are properly divided and the major forms/docs are easily identifiable (used bottom tabs).

I also wanted to comment on early biometrics and give hope to those who want to try it. My local ASC has a no walk-in policy, but I went ahead and decided to try it anyway. (Yes, I am stubborn! :P) Armed with supporting documents, I went. I came in after 3pm, and was told that they are done accepting people for the day. They then gave me an appointment earlier than my originally scheduled date. I had it done today and the whole process took 10 minutes tops.

Good luck to everyone! :star:

It will just take a few days after they cash the checks for you to receive your NOA in the mail. For now, keep monitoring your checking account and as soon as you get the NOA, create an account on the USCIS website and activate text/email notifications. Good luck!

Welcome and great and your walk in.

How did you do it?

Thank you!

I came prepared, and was ready if ever they said no. I had with me a support letter from a congressman, a job offer stating urgent need to start asap, bio appointment notice, photo id, and a cover letter stating my request for an earlier appointment. I dressed up (but not over the top), I was courteous, and perhaps luck also played a bit. I chanced upon kind employees who were willing to consider. It may not be the same for all ASCs but I think it's worth a try anyway.

Hope you all are having a great day! :)

Thank you for your input

It was my pleasure. Hope others will find it helpful! :)

I just need some help clarifying some things with regards to my Social Security card. My card says "valid for work only with DHS authorization" since I was on OPT status before AOS filing. Should I wait for my GC first before going to the SS office to have those work conditions removed? Or should I notify SS as soon as I receive my EAD card in the mail? I just want to make sure I'm absolutely cleared to go back to work. TIA :star:
