I suppose we could just go ahead and go back to Canada and then use the AP to get back. I just get scared taking any kind of chances with this whole thing. We've come so far and it's so close to everything being done, I don't want to have anything go wrong now. We ended up going out for our anniversary yesterday which was very nice. We could have done the infopass and that, but working 3rd shift I'm not usually up before 4pm unfortunately.

Well i dont mean to scare you but i travel on my AP on a business trip and when i was trying to get back to the states the airline would not let me board (United airline), they would not let me board becase they said i needed a visa. They told me that my AP was not a traveling document. The airline made me go to the embassy of the country to get a letter from the embassy. I was so lucky to be let in the embassy. The embassy gave me a piece of paper saying that my AOS was in process and that is how the airline let me board. IT WAS RIDICULOUS! I had to stay two nights extra abroad.

It was pretty scary!

I am still waiting for my AOS and i filed in late may. I hope my AOS comes in soon, because i have anoth business trip soon!

Good luck for all those who are still waiting!

I've seen 6-8 months or more for people adjusting from K-1...You should hear something soon. At least you don't have to worry about an interview

What do you mean you dont have to worry about an interview?

Are you saying that people who are transfered to CSC dont get appointments?

Strange, it should have nothing to do with the airline. CBP once you make it into the US, sure. But the airline shouldn't give a damn as long as you have your passport.

Strange, it should have nothing to do with the airline. CBP once you make it into the US, sure. But the airline shouldn't give a damn as long as you have your passport.

I though so too but apparently the airline gets fined if they allow to board somebody who is not allowed into the states. They called a CBP offcier over the phone and acording to the CBP officer my AP was not a traveling document and she told united airlines that i was not allowed to board and i needed to go the embassy to get a "travel letter".

When i was let into the embassy the officer told me that there was nothing wrong, he said it was very strange that they didnt let me board. He said, "when the airline does not feel comfortable with your documets they make you come here to the embassy so they make sure they dont get fine". the fine i think is 25k.

The airlines have a little booklet with the description of the traveling documents such as GC, AED/AP but apparently the booklet they had was not updated and in the AP section it said that it was not a traveling document.

It was seriously a nightmare.

This happened this las october.

I'm not sure if I'm the only June 2012 AOS filer left. My wife's case got sent into the black hole known as the CSC, like so many others. After getting tired of waiting, I made an inquiry via their e-Request tool on 2/11, and got the standard response so many others have mentioned: "The California Service Center is committed to processing this workload, and will be making every effort to adjudicate your case in an expeditious fashion as soon as available under our resource constraints."

I finally decided to get one of my senator's office involved last week, and here's the response I got back:

Hello Mr. XYZ,

I just wanted to give you an update on your case. The CSC is currently researching the location of your wife’s case. It appears they are having trouble tracking it down. They have promised to respond to me as soon as they have more information.

Soooo, it appears they've lost my wife's case. Wonderful. I'd like to know what good the service inquiry is, if they didn't even bother to check on the case. Or is that what caused them to lose it? Either way, what a mess this whole system is. The lesson here is to get someone in Washington involved, cause that might be the only thing that forces the CSC to actually do something.

Eh, I just noticed this June 2012 AOS thread is in the adjusting from Work, Student, and Tourist Visas. The case I mentioned above was for K-1. If a moderator feels it should be deleted since it's in the wrong spot, feel free to do so.

I did a service request after 6 months and I got an RFE today. Seems that the service request was beneficial. Call them up and let them rip if you have not heard anything.

GOOD NEWS, I think?

I sent in a service request late January and got a response February 4th with that automated email they send out saying "be patient".

Kept calling in but no good news, they just kept saying they were working on July files, yet I submitted June 13th, and they sent us to Cali Service Center July 7th.

Now, dont know if this possibly helped, but April 4th I contacted ####### Durbin through the online generic form, faxed over the form allowing them to inquiry USCIS with our information, and a copy of his I-797C notice. No response by email, phone, etc.

Yesterday, April 10th I got an email from USCIS with status of Card/ Document Production, at midnight I got an email saying status is Decision, then a few hours ago back to status of, Card/ Document Production...

So I guess this is good???? If they're not just messing with my mind!

I will be certain when I get his GC in the mail.
