It won't hurt to ask. I just saw someone very recently who got the stamp. Just wait until after they tell you you're approved before you show them the plane tickets, and then give them puppy dog eyes. :)

I asked them to stamp mine because I hadn't got my EAD yet, and she said "but you'll have your card in 7 days". So I can't imagine somebody getting a stamp except for VERY serious circumstances.

Or your interviewer just didn't want to be bothered. It's true they don't do it regularly anymore, but they CAN do it, so someone trying to travel soon might as well ask.

I'm back!! The IO didn't say anything about being approved but said to expect something in the mail within 30 days. However, the interview went pretty good, lasted less than 5 mins. He didn't ask for any joint documents just photos photos and more photos. Thank God we had plenty.:). He also said we have a whole lot of joint stuff for being newly wed. I did sent in quite a few with the package and I had new ones but he didn't ask... Ill write a full review when I get a status update...

I traveled on advance parole due to same reason and I was under TPS this last January.

I have two places to go right after interview (if I get approved of course), I need to go see my mother and come back and leave to Colombia to meet hubby's grandfather (very I'll).

Both reasons are health related.....

I made an infopass since last month for tomorrow since I had not yet received and interview notice at that time. You guys think I should go and ask about stamp? maybe ask on what to bring to get stamped the interview day?

My I-485 changed between card production and decision a couple times before my I-130 ever changed. So yes, normal.

Congrats Newbie608!

I had my interview yesterday and got approved as well! At the end of the interview, the lady said that she was going to recommend me for a green card and I'll get it within a month. I just checked the USCIS website and it says I'm approved there too. I still can't believe it!!!

It went pretty smoothly, which was good because I thought I was going to strangle my husband before getting there. I was out of town a lot this summer, and he's the one who received everything at home. But he couldn't find the interview notice anywhere. And then, 15 minutes on the way, I noticed he forgot his wedding ring at home! We got there a couple minutes late but had to wait for 45 minutes before an officer could see us. Easy questions, about the different visas I got to come to the US, questions to check everything I answered on my application, how did we meet and why we got married. Then she asked to see our pictures (I did some scrapbooking so I was glad she asked!) and if we had any other documents. I had only a joint bank statement to add to our file.

All of that for 10 minutes of interview :bonk:

Adjustment of status from F-1

May 14th, 2012: wedding in Vancouver, WA :)

June 6th, 2012: mailed AOS/EAD/AP

June 8th, 2012: packet delivered

June 11th, 2012: acceptance

June 13th, 2012: received text messages and emails confirming application reception

June 14th, 2012: checks cashed

June 15th, 2012: received hard copies of NOAs (dated June 12th)

July 2nd, 2012: received biometrics appointment letter, scheduled on July 17th
