Crossing my fingers for you as well!

Had my interview today and went extremely well. Probably was not worth the stress I put myself through. The interview was less then 15 minutes.

Was told at the end they need to do final background check but however to expect the GC within 2 weeks and the IO explained the removing conditions process. I'm kind of confused if that is approval on the spot or what. My husband thinks so though.

I also got my SSN today in the mail. I applied on the 21st so a little less then a week to get to me. :)

Unless they stamped your passport with the I-551 stamp, then no - that is not approval.

Thanks! We were asked the following questions:

  • How we met
  • When we met in person
  • Beneficiary's parents first names
  • Confirm all the information on I-130 & I-485 forms

The interview was really short my father-in-law was surprised to see us so soon in the waiting room. :)

I thought they don't stamp passport no more???

I thought the same thing too. Though I've seen a handful of people receive them. I think it's just fairly rare.

I received an email update around 7ish saying

"On August 27, 2012, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later."

That sounds like approval to me!

i guess our definition of approval is different. For me, its either a stamp in the passport or the card production ordered. Until I have either of those, I don't consider the application approved. But whatever, if you feel better thinking its approved then by all means do so... this process sucks, so the more positive the better, I guess.

I was only commenting on your original post.

Hi everyone,

I married my wife who is US citizen, and we filed our AOS on May29th. I still haven't got any scheduled interview letter yet. Many people, who filed their AOS around same time as I did, seemed to have interview notice or get it done already. Is it normal to take this long? We live in LA and our case is being processed at National Benefit Center (MSC). By the way, I got my EAD and AP card on May 13.

Just trying to stay positive here. It's in decision now so just waiting for it to flip over to card production. I'm just happy to be able to take a little break from the process for a bit. :)

LA seems like one of the local offices that takes the longest for getting interviews. Have you been looking at timelines of other filers that share your local office or just filers in general? The local office does play a part. Perhaps try calling them up seeing where they are? Your about at the 90 day mark now I would think. You should be hearing something soon I imagine.

Another VJ member that is in LA had their AOS sent to the CA Service Center and also hasn't received an interview letter.

FYI, NBC doesn't process AOS cases. NBC initially receives the case, reviews to ensure everything is in order and then either forwards the case to your local office or if your local office is behind, forwards the case to CSC.

Have your checked the USCIS on-line status of your case?

That's not true. It depends on what status you adjusting from

Only K1 could be possibly transfer to CSC without interview. Everybody else will and must have an interview to be approved.
