So, I got a second email informing me that my EAD card is in production, dated from today. So what, I'll receive 2 of them? They didn't produce it on the 15th like the first email told me? Weird

I got the same one, it is normal.

My kids are 3.5 and 5.5 years old!

Will have to make friends with some mother to try to drop them off at their place super early or I will take them with me if I have no other choice

Ah ok, good to know I'm not the only one in that situation! It's kinda weird though...

Yep, make some friends But I'm sure that if they can sit quietly during the interview, it might be fine. I've read sotries of people bringing babies, but I don't know about older kids...

I hear the French is very different compared to France, but then again, I'm sure the French is very different in France, depending on the province you're in.

It is extremely different but I'm sure french can vary depending on where you are. It's almost some kind of slang french if that makes any sense.

Perfectly normal. In fact, most people get 2 or 3 notifications and in the final one will be slightly different saying USPS picked it up. I got 3 notifications.

Day 56 goes by and I'm starting to get a bit impatient about getting my work authorization. I don't have health insurance and unless I work, we can't afford it. I have a few optional medical procedures pending (in that I can put them off until the end of the year) and until I get to work, there is no way to get them done without a huge out of pocket expense. And since the procedures aren't for life threatening or dangerous conditions, I can't really say it's a financial hardship case. We visited our local congressional rep's office and met with a case worker. He said that he couldn't call and ask them to expedite (the situation apparent isn't serious enough) but for some reason he's still going to call them to check that our case is moving along or something like that (we're not really sure what he said he would call about). Yurk...I just want something, anything to plan for, even if it is just an interview date.

Just got my letter for my interview and it is at 8:15 am, I never thought they open so early, I will have to find a way to drop my kids to school and be on time for the interview or will have to take them with me

Wouldn't the kids be two walking, talking bonafides for your marriage? Also, I think having them around would allow the I/O to see you in a more family oriented setting and get more of a sense that you're a committed couple. Just my own opinion based on no prior experience.

This is America, even with an above average health insurance plan, you'll still have a huge out of pocket expense. You don't want to know how I know.. heh.

I know it really sucks but you kind of can't complain really till the 90 days are up. I see most get it between 60-70 days and honestly that is not too far off for you. You just got to hang in there and be positive!

I completely agree with this. I recently had my eye exam and got new glasses. The bill before taking stuff out for insurance nearly gave me a heart attack.

@Slidingdoors. I called USCIS on my 63rd day and I got my interview notice on day 66 and EAD production on day 67. When I got my paper notice of interview, the notice date is the same day I called them so I think me calling them helped some. Even better if you don't receive any RFE. I would say wait a few more days and then call.

I'm sure I will be but there's always a little sliver of doubt I suppose. Haha I wouldn't mind the IO to come over. My only concern was getting a random home inspection (My husband works second shift so odd hours to some) but it looks like they don't do those much anymore.

Just hang in there it seems to be around 70 days. Heath insurance is pretty costly here in America!

Yes I will see, I just didn't want them to have to miss school!

And I am not really worried about the bonfides of my marriage as I already had a green card and now being married for almost 10 years and 2 kids.

We lived here for a few years just the two of us, went back to France so I had my 2 kids next to my parents and family and now back with the kids.

Congratulations. Do not destroy the EAD in case there's an error with the GC and you have to return it. I believe the EAD could be helpful in that scenario; if not, it's always a cute souvenir.

No it wasn't a request to expedite. Of course the guy was reading off a script. I told him, its been 63 days since I filed and 33 since my biometrics. I told him I haven't received any RFE and I was just wondering how long it will take for to hear something. He told me about the 90 days blah blah blah.. But I don't think its a coincidence that my notice is the same day I called. Weird but I had a dream the night before I called to call them eventhough I told myself I wouldn't have to I did. Give it a shot!!
