How many days did it take?

I received three notification through USCIS. The last one I got said USPS picked the card up on the 16th. So 7 days I would guess. It gave from NBC which is in Missouri I'm in Michigan so it's not terribly far and it was sent as priority in a smallish envelope.

About 7 days but I got quite a few notices from USCIS before it was actually mailed out.

I also like to point out that they probably picked the worst picture to put on the card. -_-

Yes I know.

But I wanted my kids soo bad in my country and it was time for me to go home, coudn't wait any longer especially that after the 2 years green card they added one more year to it so I coud't become a USC after 2 years so I just left!!!

I have no regret though!! It was just my timing......

I know, that has the be the best reason. The whole having kids thing makes me think a lot too, where I want to raise them, etc... but I'm not ready to go back to France yet. I don't know what I would do there! :P

I also like to point out that they probably picked the worst picture to put on the card. -_-

The lady who did my biometrics made sure she had a good one, she took 3 total, she even sprayed water in my hands to run through my hair to flatten the frizz! Hopefully it looks good in the end :P

A very good point. As soon as I get my US passport, we plan to leave and go to Canada. We'll start the permanent resident process up there for my wife (it's MUCH harder there than it is in the US... we had started the paperwork before I got my current job because we had planned to leave the US. WOW, so much paperwork!).

If I missed anyone's update, feel free to add it yourself.

Good luck to everyone's journey!!!!!!

For some reason, I always thought that Canada was an easier country to emigrate to... Canada is a country I'd love to live in, first reason being both my language and my husband's are official languages there, which would be great to raise our kids. Plus I always view Canada as being a mix between the US and Europe. And I love the country, people are friendly, it's beautiful. The downside... the climate.

I hear the French is very different compared to France, but then again, I'm sure the French is very different in France, depending on the province you're in.

Canada welcomes immigrants with open arms (unlike the US which tends to shun them), but the application process is very thorough. If you're at all curious, here's the page with the forms for Canada: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp

Pay special attention to "Sponsored Spouse/Partner Questionnaire". They ask some pretty crazy questions! VERY detailed stuff. So it's not so much HARD to emigrate to, it's just far more thorough and a much longer application package.

Once I have my US Citizenship, my wife and I plan to go to Canada and do the same thing there. Both of us having two passports will make travel much easier. We also want to live in Canada permanently.

Anyway, sorry to de-rail this thread folks. :ot2:

I hope you'll manage to drop your kids off and go on time. How old are they?

So, I got a second email informing me that my EAD card is in production, dated from today. So what, I'll receive 2 of them? They didn't produce it on the 15th like the first email told me? Weird
