Sorry it took me forever to update you all, but here's how my interview went:

It was a two-hour wait at the Phoenix location but my husband and I didn't mind. We were just happy to be there! The actual interview took only 5 minutes. IO was pleasant and straight to the point. Asked how we met, and we also went through the usual i-485 questions. He didn't say approved/denied, just said to wait for the decision in the mail.

Now I understand why most of the people coming out from the interviews has this blank expression on their faces! I'm not entirely sure, but I'm guessing it's their protocol to not give decisions right then and there, perhaps to avoid confrontation in cases of denial.

The next day, I received an email notification that our i-130 application has been approved! The i-485, on the other hand, just indicated that the decision is in the mail. By this time, we were going crazy!! So we (im)patiently waited and checked our mail everyday.

Today, we finally got the official notification: 10-year green card approved! Hallelujah!! :dance:

How many years is it usually for a greencard then? What do we do after it expires? do everything all over again?

If you been married for less then 2 years you get the 2 year green card. You have to do the removing conditions on it later on. If you been married for more then 2 years you get the 10 year green card and don't have to do the removing conditions part. :)

Today marks 60 days since my package was received. Should I be calling them at this point or just continue waiting?

No update yet?? did u call them again? been expecting you have interview first before me coz I got RFE..

but still I haven't received my EAD yet and getting ready for my interview..

I just called USCIS and was told that is taking 4-5 months to process....to give them a call on the 90 day

...?

She also mentioned that the only way to get a response it would be to expedite my ... my mother is still kind of sick in El Salvador but I have no proof with me...what do they ask for?
