I'm on the same boat as Freely, no EAD/AP, got an email this afternoon. My interview is on august 30th! Hooray! I am so happy and excited!

I'm in the same boat as well. From what I have read you'll either get it a couple days before the interview or after. Congrats on getting your interview notice!

Got an email yesterday that my I 130 was transfer to another office.

Is this good or bad news??

Do you know what office it got transfered to?

Do you know what office it got transfered to?

Doesn't say on the email. Have to wait for the letter......

April 3rd 2012: I 130 send to Chicago

May 16th 2012: I 485, I 765, I 131 send by USPS priority mail at the Chicago lockbox

May 18th 2012: AOS received and signed by D.Colonna at 2:18pm at Chicago

June 4th 2012: got my all package return, restarting from level zero again :((((

Hm ok. I wouldn't worry too much honestly. Usually when things get transferred it means wherever it was before is swamped. Generally it is the K-1 AOS cases that get transferred because they always get an another interview. Just have to wait and see.

HiAbby, mine was some here in boston. It's fast and easy. The doctor won't do anything with you, nurse will gave me a shot to test if i'm immune to something or not, come back in 2.days to check the reaction, when all is good, have me my form. I forgot what it was for.

The medical is just to check if you're updated in all the vaccinations needed. I can't say much about PA/ny/nj area, but the thing I did is called up people from the list they have in the government website and scouted for the cheapest one.

hey angeltots thanks for the info, i worry too much about this medical, cos ive been reading such negative reviews about civil surgeons... but i called this civil surgeon in new york that cost $200, i guess im gonna go for this doctor anjd get this done cos im tired of being so stressed about my application... hehe goodluck!

Dont worry too much about it. Its quick and easy, and usually cheap. More often than not its under $200 total no matter what shots you need. No big deal.

thanks that makes me feel better, im gonna go to this CS in NYC that cost $200 but i gotta travel for 2 hours for this cheap doctor, good luck to me... and good luck to you!

Ive been getting calls for a job interview but unfortunately i cant go cos of not having my work permit. And also husband and I were planning to go to UK to visit some of my family... I just dont know if i can use an AP to travel to London, i wonder if they can give me a tourist visa as i dont have a GC yet...

It seems to vary how soon you get your EAD/AP card. I've seen 2 weeks, 3 months, and everything in between. I know you can expedite your EAD card if you have a job offer in writing usually. You should be able to travel to London with AP. Assuming you are not out of status since leaving USA before the green card would get you a ban. I honestly don't know about applying for a tourist visa while waiting for the green card. I doubt they let you though if I had to guess. I know it sucks but your best option would probably be just to wait.

I think the UK tourist visa has nothing to do with the GC, It's about the passport you're holding

Imagine people live in Philippines who wants to travel to UK, just google how to get UK tourist visa

I would guess your EAD is still several weeks to a month away.

I would guess your EAD is still several weeks to a month away.

Yea, and I told them late august most likely, and they were fine with it. But it can't hurt to try to speed it up!

Just sent in my signed acceptance of a new job. Just can't start until I have my EAD. Thinking of trying to expedite, now that I have an actual offer letter in hand. Thoughts?

I say try to expedite it never hurts to try. Worse thing they can do is say no to expediting it.

AP is no longer a "Departure" so it would not give her a ban read Matter of Arrabally and Yerrabelly

Interesting. I wasn't sure if that had gone through or what. Thanks for pointing that out to me. :)
