Did your job offer have an "Accept by" date on it? If so, how far off was this date? Did you have to submit proof of financial hardship?

Yes. My employment offer included a projected start date (about 3 weeks I think). It also included a statement that this is with the condition that my employer fully understands that I am only eligible to work after my EAD is approved. No exceptions.

I didn't submit proof of financial hardship at all. My basis on request for expedite is for the company's need to fill the position urgently and that I have already been selected for it. Let me also reiterate that I didn't request an expedite directly to USCIS. I sent in a request for support to our local district representative and his aide helped me out. Don't know much about the process, as the aide didn't tell me anything besides issuing a statement of support. What I can tell you is that my EAD was approved the same day I had my biometrics done. Within an hour, my USCIS notification changed from initial review to card production). Hope this helps! :star:

Weee congratulations! By the way, can you give me a date of when you mailed your application? The first column on the chart is submission but I have your date of receiving NOA1. It might put you up higher in the list and help others (ME!) not feel so ansty about our own process. ..if only you're ok with it of course. xD Thanks!

Why didn't I think of expediting my EAD... then I didn't have to quit my job.. :bonk: :bonk: :bonk: :bonk: :bonk:

Fascinating. I wonder why some people do not require biometrics. Does anyone have any theories?

Congrats isa30! question for you, what does it mean your middle name was not correct? and that it still isn't fixed? (sorry if you had already talked about it somewhere else you can just point me to a previous post that is fine).

cheers and have a good weekend everyone!

-I am currently under TPS and I just renewed it 4 months ago (I had bio's done like 5 yrs ago)I never have to re-do them under this status, I feel that since they just used them for tps renewal they did not require them for AOS.

-Thank you. My NOA1 did not have my middle name for form I-130 and I called thinking they had made an error so made an inquiry to add it (their email response was still missing my middle name)

Hey, thanks.

Well, we lived aboard for the last 3 years of taxes, so I send a letter from IRS stating that my husband did't have to fill taxes since we paid it where we lived abroad and IRS said it will be fine for the immigration so I am confused now.

Did we get the wrong info or is it for something else!!

Just have to wait and see I guess.

Just hope this will not delay my EAD....

Did you have to use a joint sponsor then? I hope its nothing serious that would require a lot of time to get together...

Good luck though...As far as delaying EAD, I guess it depends on how long you take to reply to the RFE

Oh Trefletatoo I feel your pain, and I'm sorry. We received one as well.

Based on what you are saying, I'm thinking they will send you the standard RFE related to showing proof of all "supporting tax documentation". Even though you SENT them a letter explaining. Based on our experience (which I posted after visiting Detroit USCIS) and from reading multiple forums, IRS and USCIS don't communicate, and if they do, they do it poorly. Even if IRS told you something, that doesn't guarantee that USCIS will accept it.

A suggestion: Even though you meet the poverty line, it seems having a standard joint sponsor makes things easier for them, and thus you get your paperwork taken care of appropriately. Thinking of and talking with someone that could potentially fill that role could give you a head start just in case it's for that, and won't hurt if it is not.

Let us know what it says and hopefully it doesn't take long for it to come in the mail! (or it's something simpler like you missed one photo)

(I keep questioning why they couldn't just email the actual CONTENT of the RFE, makes more sense doesn't it?)
