Hello and thanks for reading.

My wife and I have completed the K-1 visa process and got married a week ago. We are about to file for her AOS once we get a copy of our marriage license. However, she has a family emergency back home and would like to return for a few weeks. We have researched about what to do and are at a loss for the best cource of action. We think the options are:

Wait for the AOS to go through, but that will take over 45 days.

File for the AOS and an I-131, but the filing for the I-131 will take a long time from what we read as well.

Any ideas?

Thanks again!

so far i know is when she travels international without the I-131 then the AOS process gonna be denied.

when u file for your AOS and the I131 at the same time it takes around 2-3months to get the travel documents. time varies from case to case.

to dont jeopardize the green card process it would be the best to wait for the I131 to be approved.

if anyone knows something else please correct me

File the AOS packet, then make an Infopass appointment at the local USCIS to get an expedited advance parole.

is possible to file the AOS with the I-131, and the when the I-797-C formletter shows up, the receipt notices on BOTH the I-485 AND the I-131,

get to the local office for an infopass appointment

and beg for Emergency Advanced Parole (showing the two notices)

Good Luck !
