When I read your post, and i saw the marriage was four years, that didnt give me the impression of a fraudulent marriage. It just sounds like a marriage gone bad and that you are looking for an excuse to make the reason behind it make you feel better about the situation. Just let her go and move on. If this goes to a divorce court it may not look very good on your behalf to the judge if you try to have her deported on fraudulent charges and they are found to be untrue.

A loooooooooooot of marriages between couples from the same country dont last 4 years. Why some people expect a marriage between a USc and a foreigner should be any different? things happen, none is perfect. Even people from the same family, dont get along, fight and end their relationships. What i see from lots of posts is that an alien spouse is always guilty ( of fraud ) untill proven otherwise.

my wife from colombia has informed me that she is no longer in love with me and wants to get a divorice and she now has a boyfriend. I think that she has set me up. she has been planing this all along, and i have been the fool, she is 25 years younger than me and she is in the process of getting her citizenship. she is waiting to here from them to get an appointment. so my question is: should i inform imigration that this may have been fraud? do i do anything? the marriage has been for 4 years. please give me some advice

Why do you say you were scamed? did you change with her? She is much younger than you. Did you take her out and things like that? You guys need to take good care of those young girls if not they get bored at home.

Just an opinion.

You don't work for the secret service, do you?

Just Kidding.

Just a thought. Maybe you could use the fraud issue to get more favorable terms in the divorce.

This is unbelievably unethical advice. Manipulate her with the fraud so you end up getting more from the divorce? That is not good.

OP, as most people have said here, just try move on and you will find happiness soon. The best of luck.

Don Miguel, imho, consider speaking to her and finding out what is really going on. That she wants a divorce does not make her a complete stranger nor should it prevent you from reaching an amicable solution. Remember that at some point the two of you were in love, enough so, to get married. Finds out what changed that, from her part, for I believe that will help you understand, if not accept the separation. Find out what it is that she wants out of the divorce. No matter how you feel, you are still her husband, and she your wife.

There is no need for you to report her to immigration, for she has not done anything wrong from from their perspective. As she is applying for citizenship based on the three-year rule, you may need to make her aware of your intentions, if called by immigration for an interview, as part of her citizenship process, in which case she will have to wait another two years before applying for naturalization.

Good luck!

I'm a born US-Citizen who grew up in Colombia and I'm now petitioning my Colombian wife. My mother, GrandMother, Aunts and pretty much all females in my family are Colombians. Saying that "All Colombian Women who marry a GRINGO are ONLY after a Visa/Green Card/Citizenship" is definetely a very big stereotype.

Couple of Red Flags (in my opinion):

* Age Difference (Huge) - My ex-wife and I had a 10 year difference and it was a big deal, now I can't imagine 25.

* Whether she has scamed you or not is very difficult to prove - Again, I agree with most posts in here. If she wanted to leave you just for the sake of getting an immigration benefit, she would had done it a long time ago.

* She says she has a boyfriend (but she's still marry to you) and that my friend is called "Adultery" which I strongly oppose.

* She wants a divorce - Don't kill yourself over it. Get divorce and move on.

Lastly, I wanted to say that you could either think in any of two ways and draw your own conclusions but again there is no point in pursuing a logical explanation after she has made those statements:

Option 1 - Women are smart and if she wanted to scam you, then that was her long-term project and she knew from the beginning what she was going after (especially marrying a person who was 25 years older than her - with all due respect)

Option 2 - She just simply got tired and at some point she's started getting attracted to younger men, which is perfectly natural and at the same time one the biggest risk you take when marrying someone who has a big age difference.

Hey! It happened to me! ... So it could happen to anyone ... Just saying.

Good luck in sorting out things! God Bless!

My wife is 25 years younger than me. I could not be happier. She does not have a dishonest or mean bone in her body. She is beautiful ahd she truly loves me. The age difference is not an issue with her at all and she turns mens heads on the time.

I hate to see you do something to mess up her life based on your suspicions. If you had the resources you could hire investigators and get facts first. But assuming you do not have that kind of money to throw around tell USCIS that it is just your suspicion and they can do the investigation and get to the truth of it.

If it was fraud then she had the option of leaving you a lot earlier than to wait 4 years. Your marriage is over and that is all there is to it. Get a divorce and take some time to heal yourself.

+1.
