Hi, Just wondering if anyone here has an idea of the length to receive a letter for the biometrics appointment? We sent our AOS package on May 9th, received an NOA1 a week later and are now in limbo... I've been reading the forums and some of the biometrics seem to process within a month and others three months? We are in California and if anyone has a general idea ( how long is long enough to wait?) of the time between these steps, please reply. Thank you. :)

My packet delivered at May 9th, and I already did my Biometrics. I am in Cali too.

It really depends on the people who handling the packets, I guess they process less paperwork if they were not in the mood that day..

I suggest you wait for another week to call.

Good luck.

I too am waiting for the biometrics appointment letter! My status still shows initial steps, which states it generally takes two days, its been the same for over a week. We received our NOA 3 business days after we mailed in the applications! The waiting is the worst part!

Thanks everyone for the replies. It's ridiculous that the US govt. can't process these more efficiently. :(

Your biometrics appointment will be scheduled when your local office has an appointment. Normally it is within 30 days and then the letter will take a couple of weeks to get to you. Sometimes it takes longer. Your timeline doesn't show where your local office is, please fill in your timeline, this will help people answer your questions. :)

Finally got my letter! It arrived exactly 1 month after my packet was accepted. I believe the delay was because they transferred our case to the California center. Woo! Another step closer!

You need to give it a bit longer than 3 weeks. I waited 98 days for my biometrics appointment during ROC! Sometimes it takes a long time, unfortunately there isn't much you can do. After 30 days of waiting you can call USCIS to raise a service request but if your local office is still busy it won't make any difference. I would advise calling after 30 or 40 days to check your notice didn't get lost in the mail.
