Are you sure the lawyer said VISA approval or just USCIS approval? Every lawyer I have checked into is guaranteed case approval with the USCIS not the consulate.

I will assume that you know what the IMBRA law/regulation is... And, if you have read and understand the IMBRA you should not have any problems. During my experience bringing my gal to the US, she is a filipina, the interviewing officer in Hong Kong, this is where my gal was working when she was interview and immigrated to the US, made a point of showing her my criminal history and asked her if she was aware of it. She told him yes and that was all there was to it.

Good luck,

Sid

Most issues regarding IMBRA are handled by the USCIS before they get to the embassy. You should not expect any problems, but remember they can also ask how you met and other things. Just make sure she is prepared and you will not have a problem.

Good luck!

just so all knows this is in the contract with my lawyer (((( After the interview, the American Consulate will grant your fianceé a Fiancée Visa so the two of you can be united in the US. )))

The lawyer can only give you back the money you spent on the lawyer. Which, BTW, many, many couples in this forum do not bother with in the first place...

I picked my wife out from EM's online catalog after I paid my $99 to access it. (True story!)

I listed EM as a marriage broker with address, etc on question 17 or 19? on the 129f. We had practiced all the possible questions, both of truths and non-truths that could be asked of her.

The lady CO did ask how we met and how much she had to pay to join EM ($0 for women) and how many men she had met before meeting me (0 again, I was the first to travel). It was a no=brainer. I didn't have any prior kids or felony convictions but we had practiced what she should answer if she was purposefully asked misleading and false questions (could and has happened).

In the end she was given a 221g requesting more evidence of our relationship, which I emailed to the Embassy the following weekend and then followed up with a large 10 lb FedEx box. The emails worked and we were approved three days later.

I wouldn't sweat that stuff....but she should know about all those prior wives and those bunches of kids and all those felonies you have. !!!

What you are talking about is the burden of the dating agency. They can be sued by government if their agency does not follow imbra. IMBRA stated that the agency cannot give out the woman contact information unless they first ask you about criminal history and second, get the lady permission to give you her contact infromation. IE, you cannot just buy her address without her knowing.

I really need to become a lawyer.

I think I'll just pretend to be a lawyer and threaten to sue anyone that gives me trouble.

Wife's visa journey:
