After almost 6 months of waiting, our NOA2 has finally come! It was May 21, 2012 when we received the text and email notification that our I129F has been approved. I know that it will take a couple of days to one month before it will be received and processed in NVC. Today, my fiance decided that he will go here in the Philippines and he wants to accompany me on my interview (Obviously, I still don't have the interview date yet).. We were thinking whether he will schedule his flight on first week of June, or second week? He is willing to stay for longer than a month here in PH. He just wanna be with me again because the last time we seen each other was November 2010. He wants to be by my side during the remaining visa process..

For those people who already have their visas on hand, or at least got their interview dates already, do you think it is okay if he will fly here on the first week of June? Do you think I will be able to schedule my interview this coming June? I am so excited. I wanna see him, hug him and kiss him! The wait is almost over.

For those people who already have their visas on hand, or at least got their interview dates already, do you think it is okay if he will fly here on the first week of June?

When your fiance arrives in the Philippines is entirely up to you and your fiance, sure it's okay if he has the time and financial means to do so.

Do you think I will be able to schedule my interview this coming June? I am so excited.

When you call NVC and get your MNL # -- you'll be able to schedule your interview on a date that is most convenient for you. It should not take a month for NVC to assign the MNL # to your case. After the holiday (Memorial Day) May 28, here, start calling NVC and call daily in the evening U.S. east coast time to get the MNL #.

I wanna see him, hug him and kiss him! The wait is almost over.

We just got our interview date set for in June - i know its for a different country, however, we got our NOA2 APR 12. and it took a month for it to go thru NVC and be sent out to the embassy (Sent out on May 10.) then another week and a half to get and return packet 3. So I know this part is quicker, but you do need to allow a few weeks to a month for NVC to receive and process. I am going to my fiance's interview as well and i just purchased my ticket yesterday - i waited until we had the interview date set to purchase the ticket - we put the interview off by 2 more weeks so I could get decent airfare. So, to answer your question

If at all possible i would wait until u have an interview date set or that you at least know your petition has been sent out by NVC - it is possible for petitions to be pulled for AP at NVC and this would mess up your timing.

Oh I see.. Thanks for sharing your experience. I will talk about it with my fiance. However, I am still hoping that our case will not be pulled for AP.. I know that it is a case to case basis. I read some who got their case number within a week, some for 2 weeks, and some for a month.. I hope our case will be included on those lucky ones who got their case number on the earliest possible time so we can schedule my interview fairly quick..

You're welcome!

Remember, once you have your MNL #, you and your fiance are in the drivers seat and the rest of the process will go as fast as you decide. Do not wait for USEM to communicate with you via mail. Prepare and acquire these documents, don't forget you need to complete CFO required counseling and you can register at SLMCEC for the medical -- which will save you a bit of time the day of your medical.

Good luck young lady!

Thanks. I already have the other needed documents. The Affidavit of Support, Visa Photographs, and DS Forms are the only missing docs.. My fiance will just bring with him the Affidavit of Support.. We just really need the MNL Case Number and we're all set.. :)

Anyway, where can I register for the medical? Is it thru online?

NOA2: May 14th...

awaiting new NVC case number

-We are planning to have our wedding Sept 2nd 2012 over labor day here. So I want to try and get my fiancee her interview before so she can come here in July.

1)Once I have my NVC case number should I email the Chennai India consulate with the case number requesting a interview date to be assigned?

2)Regarding all this packet 3 and 4 confusion...we have already compiled all the required packet 3 documents. Can she just send them into VFS US office by courier with the fees and the NVC/MDR case number once we get it? or does she need to wait for the letter to reach her from Chennai consulate inviting her to apply?

Thanks

My friend flew to the PI to go to the interview with his fiancee at the embassy and he said it was a waste because they made him wait somewhere else. That would be a giant waste of money and time in my eyes.

In our case, he will come to Philippines not only to come with me to the interview, but to also have a vacation and have a tour.. We've been apart for 1 year and 6 months already so we really want to be with one another as soon as possible..

It may be a waste of time and money, but being with him, especially on this part of visa process, is such a wonderful thing.. :luv:

Did you call the NVC for the Case Number and asked them when are they going to send your papers to the consulate?

1)Once I have my NVC case number should I email the Chennai India consulate with the case number requesting a interview date to be assigned?

I do not know how will it be processed in your consulate. What I can advise you is to ask it on the regional discussion forum. Here in Philippines, they say that as soon as we have the NVC Case Number, we can pay for the visa fee and schedule the interview online. I don't know if it is the same thing in your country..

I also have the Packet 3 on hand. I believe that no fees will be sent together with the documents (correct me if I am wrong). Once you called NVC and they told you that they already sent your papers to the consulate, you better call the consulate after 7 days and ask them if they already received your file. Do not send the packet 3 if you are unsure if they have your papers with them.
