Hellooo,

Just trying to get an idea of how long it's recently been taking the embassy to post out the visa after the interview. I know it;s never going to be a certainty, but it's nice to have soem idea... My friend who was getting a student visa said it took three days for him, and he lives in Ireland, has it been that quick for most people?

Thanks for your help!

Maria

I got my K1 visa back the next day, I have no idea how it came that quickly! Back in 2004 when I aplied for my Q1 visa to work in Walt Disney World it took a grand total of 9 days, so I think i was just lucky to get my K1 back the next day!

Couldn't tell you! I passed the interview and was approved on the 3rd of October. I then got a letter 2 days later saying they needed a notarised letter from my son's father giving his permission for my boy to emmigrate to and live in the USA with me. They received it on Thursday...so now I'm just waiting....and waiting.

The interviewer told me it would take up to 5 days for the visa to be issued and sent out (if everything was okay). The courier lady said two days...

Hmmm... So it's looking like 3 days is the norm, which would make it a day where no one will be at home to answer the door to the postman... Is it just like a parcel where they take it back to the depot and you can go and get it later? I work next to the depot so that would be quiite handy!

Thanks

Maria

No, it's the embassy courier, you sort it out and pay for it (£13.50) after your interview; if you passed. You have to be there and sign for the visa yourself. It's an important document after all.

If you aren't they take it back and try to redeliver it another day. I don't know how many times they will do this though.

Oohh how annoying, maybe I'll just quit my job after my interview and not work the notice.. Then I'll definitely be at home to get it... perhaps I'll be lucky and it'll arrive on one of the days my mum's at home. But being lucky during this process does seem to be a bit of a rarity...haha.

Well, I gave them my work address to deliver it to, they let you do that. :D As long as you're there of course!

I was going to say that  Also I had to show ID on delivery, so make sure you have a DL or something with you just in case.
