Quick question, how should the format of this be? The same as the Letter of Intent to Marry? Are there any sample formats that I could see? I know this may seem like a dumb question but any help would be great with this!

Why are you writing a "how we met" letter? All you need is a couple sentences in the box of question #18. No need for a formal letter.

Welcome to the forum.

I would keep it short and sweet. If you want an indication of how much you should write, take a look at the size of the box that they provide for your narrative statement. :D

Good luck on your visa journey.

I've read that people like to include a statement that may take up more space than included on the form itself. Would the evidence trump the letter anyways?

You can include a statement if you want, I guess, but they really don't need your entire relationship history. Dates and locations of how/when you met will suffice. And yes, the evidence you provide should back all of that up. :) Keep it simple!

I wrote a one page "love story" beginning with To Whom it May Concen.... Single spaced, a new paragraph for each notable event. Just told about how we initially became acquainted, when we met. A little about what we did when we were together. A bit about my proposal and ended it with "and I want her and need her here so we can begin our life together". And I also left a place at the bottom where I could include a "wet" signature. And include places, dates, and people that you might of met. For example, I talked a little about meeting her brother in law on December 28 and told how he and I went and did some things together on the 29th. I even told about her father toasting me with vodka on the 27th. It's maybe not nessesary, but I feel like it was a nice touch to include it in the petition for easy reference of a timeline and it took all of 30 minutes.

Hope you found this helpful...

Thank you for sharing your story! I would like to add as much as I can to the I-129F package, but not going overboard. I have my evidence and would like to supplement it with a nice how we met letter. Again, thanks! :)

I'm choosing to write a one page single-spaced "how we met" especially since my relationship with my fiance was primarily developed via the internet and I feel like I need to elaborate. I think it's just nice to include the facts with some details especially since my fiance is also from a high fraud country and again I feel that need to elaborate a bit just to create a timeline like "Jamie and Sveta" mentioned. The choice is yours because guides say you can go up to one page! but I wouldn't go over 1 page and I would stick with relevant and important who/what/whens/ and wheres!

My relationship began on the internet too. My answer was literally "Met on the internet on this date, met in person on this date at this location. There have been this many visits since then."

I'm doing the same as well, describing the events around how me and my fiancee met. I actually went to see her twice so I'm including a little from both visits. It's just a little under one page, but I think it is nice to have.

I wish I could see what my husband wrote about how we met when he filed the I-129F. lol, knowing him not being too detailed and not liking to share to much private information he prob. kept it really simple. :P and we got accepted, think he attached like 1-2 photos a flight ticket. very little.

it got accepted, and when I went in for my interview in at the US embassy in Sweden I brought soooooo much evidence, like 10 photos, a bunch of flight tickets, post cards, letters u name it, they never asked to see a thing...and they asked me a total of like 6 question, it took seriously 5 min, and I couldn't even answer the questions to a 100% "when did his parents divorce?" me: "i don't know?...sometime when he was little" and she looked all serious at me, I was really worried :P but 1 week later I got accepted for my K1 fiance visa.

I think it also depends from what country you're immigrating from, if it's a low fraud country...keep it simple.

if the relationship is real, it's real and it doesn't need to be forced to prove too much.
