It would be interesting to know if any of the petitioners who received an RFE requesting the beneficiaries BC included any other identity documentation. Hang on, hang on.....Maybe I need to turn the question around.

For those who did not receive an RFE for the beneficiaries BC did you include other documentation such as identity page of there passport? In my first petition, I included the identity page of my then fiancee's passport. I did get an RFE but it was not for this....

I am just thinking out loud here but does the petitioner need to prove or adjudicator need proof of the age or nationality or something like that which the BC or the identity page of the passport would provide?

YMMV

I am still very early in the process but I did NOT send a copy of her BC because it has an error on it.

However, I did send a copy of the first 2 pages and last page of her passport. I would hope that is enough because she needed her BC, NBI and local Police Clearances to get the passport in the first place.

For myself I sent a copy of my BC (front and back) and copies of every single page of my passport which expires in 09 so I did not meet the "valid for 5 years" requirement on that.

03/03/06 - First met in Manila

05/23/06 - "First" visit for 1 week

Valid for 5 years? Well in canada the passeport they deliver is ONLY good for 5 years. Received it in Jan 06 so no matter what its never good for 5 years...4 years 1/2 for me... But besides, a lot of people got approved with no RFE. So I wish you good luck :)

Jinky had sent me copies of her driver's license, social security card and university diploma (Philippines) which I included in my original K-1 submission thinking that it would help confirm that she is who she says she is. When I received my RFE, it was only for IMBRA. However, it may be that the adjucating officer wants further evidence since according to what I've read, it is left to their discretion. IMO, the petitioner should try to send evidence of the beneficiary's identity beyond just a passport style photo and their name.

a previous poster was correct in that my status has not changed, so i do not know the result of the few touches that i have had over the past few days. since approvals were few and far between I thought a few touch messages would be a good thing:)

I did get to thinking though, in this age of homeland security, liquid bans, shoe checks, and the like it does surprise me that more information in not requied about the beneficiary.

I would think they would want to check out as much as they could.

I know the answer! they trust our judgement as to the character and the past of those we love so they have streamlined thier process:) See the goverment is working for us!
