Moving cross country while NOA2 is pending

Hi all,

I have moved from Massachsusttes to California while my NOA2 is still pending. I called USCIS to report my change of address, and they said the case will be transferred to the CSC from the VSC, and they said the case will just be "picked up" from where it was left off.

Does this mean we still get the NOA2 past on our receipt date after the transfer? Or do we start all over again?

Feb 5, 2012 - Mailed I-129F to TX

Feb 7, 2012 - USCIS Received application

Feb 10, 2012 - NOA1 email/text

Feb 11, 2012 - Touched

Feb 13, 2012 - NOA1 hard copy

<--Waiting forever-->

Aug 17, 2012 - NOA2 (189 days!!)

Aug 27, 2012 - NVC Received the package

Aug 30, 2012 - NVC Shipped the package to the Guangzhou embassy

Sep 07, 2012 - Email GZ embassy for update of status. P3 has sent out!

Sep 10, 2012 - Hasn't receive physical P3, submit P3 to GZ embassy.

Sep 12, 2012 - Receive physical Packet3

Sep 27, 2012 - Received email from Guangzhou embassy stating they sent P4

Oct 29, 2012 - Interview! :D

No, it sounds like that they are just transferring your petition to the CSC for adjudication. Though, it would be very speculative to say where your petition was in the boxes of petitions in Vermont and now where your petition will be in the boxes of petitions in California. After all, we are all at the mercy of very large government bureaucracies. Hopefully, if you update your timeline to the new service center the ESTIMATED NOA2 date should be appropriate.

i say that's a bullsh|t answer - the case will not be transferred because you move.

The case COULD be transferred due to lag or queue, but not because YOU move.

Call back a few times tomorrow, ask the same question, record the answers...

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

That's craziness why does the service center have to be close to you. Makes me scared to even let them know of my upcoming cross country move also.

Hopefully my NOA2 will come before I have to move.
