It would seem the small rush of approvals at the end of September wasn't what most of us hoped for, a move by CSC to maintaining some type of "normal" processing of K-1's. Even before the rush at the end of September was better than now. There have been very few approvals in the last two weeks. Prior to the IMBRA mess, CSC was averaging about 90 days to process a K-1. Then IMBRA caused some major delays on many K-1 applications causing those folks to wait an extremely long time for their N0A2. There are still some of those poor souls waiting for their approvals. Maybe they're working other types of visas now, and will get back to K-1's later. I may have missed some approvals, but weren't there only 3 or 4 approvals for K-1 during the past two weeks? Does anyone want to venture a wild guess as to why so few approvals so far in October?

Same thing is happening with CSC in regards to 1-485 (AOS) approvals so maybe they are doing some reshuffling ... Or it could be that they are now overwhelmed with K-1/3 transfers from Texas & Nebraska as well as all of the latest K-1 AOS applications that are also being transfered to CSC as well ...

Really, the slow down has just been in the last week. If you go back and look at the timeline list and NOA2s, you'll notice that we got quite a few in October, just not many this past week.

Today is the 13th.

One week ago:

September 29th - October 6th:

CSC Approvals: 32

This week:

October 7th - October 13th:

CSC Approvals: 1

Total October Approvals: 28

These numbers may be off by 1 or 2 as I counted manually and it's a Friday and my brain isn't quite working... but still.

Our K-1 Visa/AOS/RoC timeline can be found here.

I would guess that members here on VJ represent a fairly accurate percentage of all applicants.

One would think that but I do not believe it would be statistically sound, but one would think that to be true

A lot of NOA2 approvals have not meant much, since there are a ton of people with ther NOA2 about 30 days old, that have not been forarded to NVC. I was hoping that I would at LEAST get aknowlegement of receipt of my RFE from CSC but I did not even get that... yet. (The day isn't over).

All,

When is the end of the government's fiscal year?

Yodrak

And, according to my Senator's office, the contract for many of the hired contractors at the service centers expires annually at the end of September. She said this that since employees know contracts may not be renewed, there is often a mass exodus of employees in September. Not sure if this is accurate but combined with the end of the fiscal year and the transfers from other service centers, it may have had an impact.
