RFE clarification needed

Applied for AOS from K-1. We sent a form from my wifes local (abroad)court that states her Birth Cert. is unavailable and it is basically a statement of birth date/place signed by her mother stamped/certified by the local court in her native country. This form was sufficient to quallify for the K-1 but apparently not for AOS (I-485).I have been trying to nail down exactly what evidence would suffice but searching the uscis web site returns too many pages not specific to the subject. Can anyone having been in the same situation guide me to the specific info needed to satisfy the RFE. They also gave a time limit of 87 days to reply....is there any wiggle room in this time .....it may not be easy to secure the info. since she is not in her native country. Any help would be appreciated.have about 70 days left.

Did you include an official government document explaining that it isn't available AND why, PLUS secondary evidence like an affidavit from a parent or was this all one thing?

No wiggle room on the RFE date. Case will be denied if you don't respond with what they ask for and in time. You can refile and/or reopen, but you'll pay all over again.

No wiggle room. I had an issue with a lost medical exam and was barely going to make my RFE deadline date. I called to see what could happen, since it was out of my control, and got told "That's your problem." So.. yeah, that date is strict.

If your wife is Nigerian,she should get a birth certificate from national population commission >

She should ask someone from her family to help her process it,if she wont be able to travel to get it herself
