I NEED EID CLOTHES !!!

Anyone have suggestions for a Muslim, pregnant, small girl ?? We went to a maternity store and everything looked so dumb on me  My stomach isn't big enough for maternity .... yet it's too big for regular clothes. I tried on a few dresses with pants underneath and the tops were soooo tight they made my chest pop out which made Ali mad. Speaking of Ali .... that boy already has his Eid Clothes !!! He's sooo easy when it comes to shopping ... I'm the hard one.

Any suggestions ?!?!?!

Reunited and it feels so good ....

Those are really cool looking Rahma .... are they too expensive ?

On one of the websites you suggested I found a gorgeous dress that I fell in love with but it was definately waaay out of our price range :( The hunt is still on ... maybe I'll just go in jeans and a sweater ?!? I have never had this hard of a time finding Eid clothes. I'm usually the first in my family ... this year I'm the last .... and maybe I will never find any clothes.

COME ON GIRLS POST YOUR PICS OF WHAT YOU WILL BE WEARING FOR EID !

Reunited and it feels so good ....

They're from England, so the shipping is a killer. Plus, I just ordered a whole bunch of shukr skirts for work, so I kinda blew my clothing budget for the immediate future

Hmmmm, have you considered looking for an abaya?

LB - well unfortunately I am pumpkinesque right now so I do fit in maternity clothes haha however I am struggling finding something that works for me. I think that the best thing to do is find something bigger and take it to get it altered. It shouldn't be that expensive but make sure you do it soon. I called this morning and one place said they wouldn't be able to get it back to me for a month!!! I've decided to take a takshita that one of Youssef's sisters made me and get it altered for Eid. I gave up searching! VP linked a site in her post about shopping and the stuff there was really nice and some of it was quite reasonably priced.

It's sunnah (a tradition of the Prophet) to wear something nice/new for eid. So there isn't a specific category specifically called "eid clothes," rather, it's just buying something to look nice in :)

I think it's just that you are supposed to wear something clean and nice. I don't think you have to go out and buy something new because the prophet and some of the sahaba were pretty poor at times and I'm sure if they didn't have money to buy food they didn't have money to buy new clothes either. :star:
