California Service Center Processing times???

Okay so my husband arrived on a K-1 visa in November. We got married and filed our I-485 and I-765 in January. He had his Biometrics in the beginning of Feb, and Feb 8th we got NOA "transferring" our I-485 to the California Service Center for "faster processing." Well he got his I-765 work authorization approved in March (hallelujah!). But we have heard nothing about the I-485...no interview...nothing. So I've tried checking our status on the USCIS website. And here's were I'm getting confused.

I punch in our receipt number and it says still in "initial review"...which is normal. But then I move down the page to try to check the "processing times." When I select form type I-485, California Service Center - its says a "goal" of 4 months but an average processing time of 55 months!!! What the devil??? How can that be???? Then when you try to check the general processing time tables - it says "September 18, 2007" as the processing time frame. What is going on??? Is the website off - or is that true? How can I get an accurate estimate of where we are in the process?? I'm so confused. Can anyone help us please?

Nope I didn't ask it before...I was stressed about the I-765 before...but I think you, or someone informed me the I-765 wasn't sent to the California Service Center. But I-485 was sent there. So how am I looking at the wrong thing? Help me understand what I'm doing wrong?

yeah im on the same timeline as you. I have read on other threads that, when someone called they were told that the CSC is currently processing transferred cases that were originally filed in November. SO hopefully in a couple weeks we should see some movement

Ah ok. Thanks for the info. So, 6 or 7 months then maybe. Any idea why the website says 55 months? (Well I guess it says an "average" of 17.5 months - but either way it seems messed up!)

No 100% but I think that might be for adjusting from a different visa or it was from when they last received cases there in the first instance.

if you look at this thread for November filers it seems like a few are coming through now

Clearly states for Employment based AOS on the CSC page. It does not even list for family based AOS. Helps to slow down and read what you are looking at before losing your mind. good.gif

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Oh believe me I noticed...which added to the confusion. I did think it was strange that gave no choice but "employment based"...I thought maybe that somehow was tied to the fact we applied for the I-765. But I was fully aware it didn't make sense...hence my asking. And frankly, the fact that they don't give you the option to find the processing time for a family based AOS, is equally lame and confusing...again, hence my asking here on this lovely forum to try to find out the time frame for a family based I-485. :star: Ah the joys of immigration...

Hi, we stayed at CSC for 8 months before we finally heard that we were transferred to our local office for a interview. We received the same letter you did "speedy process" well hmmm that wasn't the case. It took one year from last April when we filed and he finally just got his green card this April (one year later).

Just sit back and enjoy life with hubby and just wait it out.
