VSC is really bad. Goodness, don't they have some sort of pride at what they do? Sheesh.

It's not really VSC's fault. With Obama forcing hem and CSC to sort through 100,000++ applications from children of illegals whom he has granted amnesty, but not simultaneously hiring incremental staff to cope with the additional workload, VSC/CSC have no choice but to get slower and slower.

Yes, please, blame the President.

I wonder who you'd have blamed if you had encountered such delays say, 5 years ago.

VSC has been slow, VSC has been fast.

People put too much emphasis on how long this (or any other immigration) process takes. With ROC your spouse is here legally with all appropriate documentation. Naturalization can be filed (if desired) promptly after ROC filing (1 year).

So all in all, 3 years from start to finish is nothing, I repeat - nothing!

Yes, I'm one of those nuts who doesn't care how long it takes, since my spouse has all of the documents she needs to live here (legally), work, etc.

Eventually ROC will be done, Naturalization will be done and that'd be it, that's the ballgame.

My advice, focus more on other things besides the processing times.

Well, you admitted on your own that you're a nut, so at least you don't live in denial, since you feel it's acceptable and makes you content to wait 8-10 months even after paying so much money in fees from the start (earlier for AoS, the i-130, i-485, and 2 yrs later now the RoC form765) totaling at least $2,000 - then any reasonable person would expect a faster turnaround than 8-9 months from filing, GIVEN HOW MUCH we pay.

What cause the delays 5 yrs ago is irrelevant, right now, we folks who applied legally have paid much more and wait longer, than the illegals who pay just 465 in fees and get a faster turnaround time of 2-3 mnths.

I don't think it is worth of arguing on this board about VSC. My husband told me several times not to worry about the time it takes for Green card cause he is like Martyshk feels this is a process and as long as he can work, travel and live here, let it takes as long as it can. If you let this process be your main worry, then it can drag you down. When I sent his paper, I was excited but when I started seeing the dates on VS of how long it takes VSC I was depressed. I stopped logging on till last month when I decided to see how things are going with timelines of May filers

Botton line, enjoy your day, your approval will come soon :)

Batta,

You are right about arguing. Also, I like your attitude. "Watched pot never boils", you know. It'll happen when it's supposed to happen.

Having an ability to have our loved ones come to this country, live here, naturalize - is a privilege given to us, USC, not a given right.

What did you lose while you waited for your I-751 to get approved? Did you lose any single benefit? No! Are are just fine.

But thousands of children who were brought to the U.S not by their own will cannot have a life! They can't function as ordinary members of this society. They are in unknown, grey area and how do you think they feel. What is their fault?

We all came to the U.S in a pursuit of happiness. Some of us were more fortunate than others in the circumstances which led to the arrival. Your situation is not similar to those children's. Your frustration cannot be basis for denying decent shot at life for others. Not everything is about YOU. Please, do not use the decency and humanity.

Please stop referring to them as "children" and trying to tug at our heart strings. They are NOW adults in the 20s, and should fend for themselves.

When they WERE children, the USA was kind enough to give them free education, free ER treatment, and child tax credits. Now as adults, they need to return to their home countries and re-enter the USA using legitimate channels like the student visa or the h1b work visa, just like tens of thousands of bright people from countries like India and China do each year.

It's a pity you appearto have bought into Obama's rhetoric to win re-election, by portraying them as "little children" who aspire to become doctors and scientists (when in reality for every 1 who aspires to do something useful with their lives, there are probably 5 out there joining gangs, doing drugs, etc.)

The ones who are really ambitious already have enough legal means to become drs, etc. using legitimate student/work visas and their DREAMS are NOT being crushed.

Anyway, this forum isn't for venting nor for discussing the merits/demerits of amnesty, so I'll stop here.

As far as your question goes as to what I stand to lose by waiting, yes, I lose a quite a bit. You don't lose anything as you're employed, but I do, as I'm self-employed (construction) and business loans are pricier by about 0.6% despite excellent credit, as they (banks, FIs) profile me as a higher risk, as I don't have an unconditional green card, and at least in theory may have to leave the country if conditions don't get lifted and hence their loans in limbo.

I apologize if I have offended readers in any way, but we all have a right to express our individual views (though this may not be the right forum, hence I'm stopping now) - I wish all filers the best and thanks for reading.

A watched pot never boils, well put. I knew when I applied in June 2012, that the waiting period would be 8 months, and that is exactly how long it has been, but i can safely say i have watched the timelines at least once a week since i filed. So i understand the frustrations, but this is not the forum to be airing our political views, this is a place we should all be encouraging each other seeing as we are all trying to achieve the same. The Storm is almost over.

I dont know about you guys, but me and my husband were apart for 4 years before we were able to afford to file the K-1 visa. I have three kids and we did it the smart way instead of rushing it, well smart for us.. It was hard, and once we were able to file that k1 visa everything went smoothly. Then the AOS went smooth and a lot faster than we thought it would. Then two years came and went and this filing has been smooth for us as well, well except for the part where they spelled his name wrong on his new GC lol. But thats an easy fix.....

My point to all of this is, we have all waited so long and have been through so much, then this is nothing. If you worry about something you dont have any control over you only make yourself miserable and you waste the time you have at that moment. Be happy that your wife or husband is with you and you are able to wait together, I guess I still think on the time when I had to wait for all of this with us apart. I hope that everyone elses time comes swiftly, but if it doesnt just be happy that you have your significant other right there beside you.

Iyekka,

I remember the k1 part and it was so hard bc we were one of the last people to get approved?

I think you and I were in the same group.

You made me smile this morning by taking me down memory lane. That was sooooooo hard waiting and waiting with him in another country and me here. This part is so much easier. Loved your post :)
