Anyone who knows how to use VJ (likely yes if they've been here through K1->AOS->ROC) can look up the average processing time, which for VSC is currently 283 days. I'm looking for the first approval of each month because there's a chance that it could be me.

Not sure why you are using the "devil" smiley and "whistling" at me as though you are making fun of the fact that we have to carry around a flimsy piece of paper for the next 6+ months when your ROC was approved in less than 4 months. And really, I have no idea why you are even on this ROC forum; you're not a moderator and your ROC was approved years ago. I wish I had that much free time on my hands...

And what is your problem? The forum is public and any member can post here no matter what's their current immigration status.

Yes, any member can post in any forum (although interestingly enough, Yurika has told people in other threads to stop posting in them because it "wasn't their month").

I admit I was overly irritated, but I don't like being patronized. Obviously if I was looking in the past months for approvals, I would have seen the percentages of approvals and it sounded like she was rubbing it in my face that we would wait many months.

Just wanted to say we got a surprise yesterday - checked the mail and there was a letter saying the ROC was approved and we should expect the new GC in the next 30 days! Woohoo! I wasn't expecting anything for at least a few more months, and really wasn't sure what was going to happen since we still haven't actually moved to the USA (though we are working towards it - have bank accounts/credit cards there, get mail at my parents' house, and hope to move sometime next Spring), so I was very relieved that it was approved!

Are you or your spouse in the military? If I gather correctly, you filed at Vermont Service Center in JUNE 2012 for the RoC, and already approved so fast. Did your case get expedited for some reason?

No, neither of us are military. Yes, we filed at Vermont in June! I never expected it to be processed so quickly! The only thing that is out-of-the-ordinary with our case is that we originally filed for an immigrant Visa at our local embassy, and though we have visited the US frequently since then and opened/maintained bank accounts, credit cards, etc. in the US, we haven't held jobs in the US yet, but rather are still working overseas. I did send a letter in with our application for ROC explaining our situation and our intentions, but if anything I assumed that would make our case take longer to process since it wasn't as straight-forward as most probably are. I don't know why we got the lucky hand, but I'll gladly take it

And If you check the April filers on this forum, you'll see they have been getting responses since middle to late October from CSC...I reckon, we might be hearing something from CSC by late December to January.

Has anyone encountered any issues renewing their DL? Even though my extension letter was for a year, DMV would only extend my drivers license by 6 months. So I filed in June and got the extension letter but my DL expires Dec 7. I'm obviously not going to have a reply back by then.
