Just got home from the biometrics appointment. it was a great experience for me and for my daughter they are all friendly and professional. we spend like 10-15mins then were all good to go... very fast processing..

I'm getting very concerned...I haven't received my biometrics appointment notice yet. I mailed application 6/23, rec'vd 6/25. According to timeline, others have mailed since me and received theirs...Should I call them??

Call them. I'm a July filer and sent out ours on July 12th. They received it on the 13th and since then I've never gotten anything but the check has been cashed. No NOA1 or Biometric appt. I got a tip on Visajourney after failing so many times in trying to call. Call the 800 number and then when they ask you to choose a language, don't press anything. They would think you have a rotary phone and will then transfer you to a real person.

When I finally got ahold of somebody, she told me they are reviewing the case but she would go ahead a open a service request. She gave me my receipt number so now I can check my status online. She also said to expect the NOA1 and biometric one week from now

try calling. good luck!

If you already got your NOA1, you shouldn't have to call. Your biometric notice might be on it's way. I called because we didn't have a NOA1 or biometric so I got concerned.

Seiko had her biometrics appointment here in Seattle on Monday at 1pm. Wasn't a ten minute thing like others, we were there for almost an hour due to the number of folks scheduled at the same time for the same thing. I guess Seattle is a major hub?

Anyway, lessons learned:

1. Don't expect it to be quick.

2. Expect that people will NOT follow the directions given to them by Homeland Security folks and instead will wander around, and then try to cut in line to be processed even though their number hasn't been called yet.

3. Bring cash for parking. They don't have a free parking lot and the pay lot only takes cash. $7 is the current rate.

4. People *will* bring their very young kids who need to be entertained. Why? Dunno, I guess they thought it would be an "in and out" thing too.

Did my appointment the day BEFORE my scheduled appt. Left home @ 5:30 am for the 2.5 hr drive, got there at 8 when office opened. Didn't have to show security my paperwork. They asked if I knew where to find office I had to be at. Told him Biometrics and he pointed me to the right direction.

There were about seven 8o'clock appointments that showed up right after. At check in office, I handed the rep my paperwork. Didn't say anything about why I'm here early. Rather, I waited for him to ask the question. He didn't. He only asked if i'd mind waiting for the appointments to get done first. Totally understandable and expected. I was super grateful that I wouldn't be turned away. The wait was for about 35 mins. approximately. The biometrics lady was super friendly and talkative. Very friendly atmosphere, smooth process. In all, I got done by about 9 am.

Things to remember:

1. Walk with quarters for parking, or with someone who wouldn't mind waiting in car to avoid that, as the process usually doesn't take that long with an appt.

2. If you're doing a walk-in, always be prepared with a valid excuse and/or supporting documents as to why you can't make it on scheduled day. You just might be unfortunate to have a less than friendly experience with a disgruntled representative. But, based on reviews i've read, those experiences are extremely rare. That's why I took the plunge and drove 2.5 hrs with hope and a prayer.

Hi everyone! Just checking on all of you. It seems the biometrics appointment went like a breeze for most of us. For me it was an opportunity to see Jackson MS. How is the wait? I know it takes a loooong time but I can't keep myself from hoping that by some miracle they just start approving a little faster.. Lol. For those of you who went on interviews. Was that before or after biometrics? If after then how long after? How long did it take? And how was it for you? My package was very comprehensive but I still wanna learn from your experiences. Thanks for taking time to reply and good luck to all us.
