USCIS needs to have received the application by the expiration date of the green card...I wouldn't push it because if you have a d'oh error like putting the wrong amount on the check or forgetting to sign something, you'll have to re-send the entire thing...I'm just doing it as soon as my 90 day window comes up because I want to be done and over with it plus David's teaching in the fall and we'd like to get biometrics done in the summer when he can go anytime...

And I have finally sent mine off - this morning! Was eligible on May 5th, but had to wait longer than expected to get my certified copy from Ontario on my criminal charge. Sigh. headbonk.gif

Hi everyone! June filer here, well soon to be, printing everything off today and will be shipping it out tomorrow! My husbands GC expires August 12, a few weeks late, but not too worried about it, just wanted to make sure we had everything in order first! Here is a list of what we have put together...

-Cover letter explaining what the packet contains

-check for 590.00

-I-751

-Two affidavits, one from a friend that has known us since before we were together, and the other from his boss from where he has been working since GC was approved two years ago.

-2 Home Lease agreements from our last house and present house that we rent.

-Printed paperwork from my kids schools showing him as co-guardian, Step dad, and emergency contact. 3 kids in total to show ongoing support in our family.

-Joint health insurance

-Joint checking and savings accounts printed first page of the statements, printed pages from our first month we opened, and the most recent month to show nothing has changed.

-Joint tax transcripts for 2010 and 2011

-copy front and back of GC

-copy front and back of both of our drivers license

-2 printed documents from the DOL here in Washington state stating we had changed our addresses on our drivers license to show same address with certified county stamp

-Copy of News paper announcement that my mom wrote announcing our marriage, shows location, date and a picture from our wedding.

-29 pictures documenting our lives over the last two years, from our wedding invitation to present day. Photos with family, our new pets, and the various places we have road tripped to.

I hope this is enough. I went totally overboard on our AOS packet, so I really tried to streamline this one, and put proof in there that had a third party attached to make it a little more solid. I believe we have enough to establish that we are pretty solid as a couple. If it comes up that we need to go in for an interview I am taking my kids along with us. They adore him and are scared to death that he will have to go back, no matter how many times I tell them it will all be ok.

Fingers crossed for all of us that this whole thing goes smoothly!
