I'm trying to work out the link between the rhythm method and orgasms.

Look, these people are married. Are people actually advocating abstinence? I would recommend those suggesting that as a viable method try it themselves. Holly and I have given real world solutions to a real problem instead of judging.

No judgement of heart just actions, and in fact i have tried it, for over a year now, only made me love my wife more. NFP-natural family planning is truly a suitable way of natural birth control though if done with the correct intentions.

Even if you have tried it, it is clearly not what this couple want, hence this thread.

Are you saying that you and your spouse live together...24/7... for a year and haven't had sex? Either someone had a secret sex change or someone doesn't want/like to have sex with their partner.

Serious = if Tommy and Maria were/are separated due to reasons beyond their control (immigration/work/sickness/religion) then they had/have NO CHOICE but to not have sex until they reunited. And if the scenario I laid out is correct then Tommy&Maria and Adriene are two completely different situations that shouldn't be compared.

Well if abstinence is the way it has to be to avoid

pregnancy .. or condoms ... then so be it.

I'm quite wary of natural forms.

It's just not a great time in my life right now to

be pregnant ... my visa stuff isn't sorted out in the

UK yet .. I would have little to no natal care from

the NHS ... and for some of you who saw my other

post with pics of our current habitat .... hopefully

would agree that it's not a space for a small child

to be crawling around on the floor in.

The consequences of unprotected sex even in what may

or may not be a risky time in the cycle just aren't

worth it to me right now. I want the option of being

able to see a doctor if needed.

Hopefully my visa stuff will be sorted soon.

Okay, I really don't know how to hurdle this.

My husband refuses to wear condoms, but he really

wants to have sex. I have no access to other forms

of birth control at this time, and no access to medical

insurance until we get my immigration status sorted.

We've tried the 'pull and pray' method and it just leaves

me constantly stressed out until my next time of the month.

Our living condition is poor; We live in a studio apartment

type setting and don't even have a proper kitchen.

What do I do?

Adriene, visit the local family planning centre. It's free and open to all regardless of status in the UK. If you are wary of natural methods, they can sort out the pill for you as well. You're doing the right thing to avoid bringing a child into the world right now given your residency and housing issues.

A most ridiculous statement, rather infatile if you ask me.

I tend to agree. Sure, some people can abstain in a marriage, but I tend to believe a healthy and active sex life only helps to increase marital happiness. star_smile.gif

this is great idea, abstain from having sex, it will show a little self-control and strengthen your relationship. We are not animals.

What a magnificent idea. We should call it 'Plan Edsel!'

Wow! LOL  Seriously though its not about having sex or not having sex, its about protecting yourself from getting pregnant. You shouldn't be the only one trying to prevent it, he should be doing something too -- like wearing a condom!!!

Lately ... when he's starting to get in the mood, and I make

a move or mention of condoms ... he just turns it down altogether :wow:

He just turned 36 and the last time I saw a reaction similar to his

from a guy, I think I was like 20. Baffles me ...
