How would it sit with you if preachers started preaching that men and women can't have oral sex? I think in some states it's still illegal to have oral sex... How do ya like them apples? Who comes up with this stuff? Probably cracked out preachers - just a hunch.

Sex

While “doing the nasty” is usually considered to be a personal affair (unless it involves money and/or a president), some states take it upon themselves to make sure all is well in the world of sexual intercourse.

For instance, oral sex is illegal in 18 states. Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, Georgia, North and South Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, Utah, Virginia and Washington D.C. consider people who give or receive oral sex to be criminals. In Georgia, those convicted of oral sex can be charged with no less than one year and no more than 20 years imprisonment. Yikes.

Oral stimulation is not the only form of sex that is highly regulated, however. The State of Virginia dictates that it is illegal to have sex with the lights on. In Florida, Massachussetts, Montana and Virginia, it is illegal to have sex in any position other than missionary. In Oklahoma, pre-marital sex is against the law. Nevada considers sex without the use of a condom to be illegal. In Texas, the use or ownership of more than six dildos may qualify you for a felony. In Georgia, sex toys are banned altogether.

I think it's hilarious to hear some heteros talk about the "sanctity of marriage". Some I know personally for a FACT have cheated on the wives- some of them numerous times. It's interesting to see hypocrisy in action. :bonk:

I would give as little a ** about that as I do about their opinion on marriage equality. It's not their fcuking business so they may as well just shut up about the whole thing. Who cares?

The sanctity of marriage was pretty much shot when more than half of the knots tied were untied prematurely. It's all just a bunch of BS. And yes, it is hilarious.

It doesn't affect my rights at all. But undoubtedly, they did affect the rights of people in NC.

I would imagine these are the same sort of ilk that would approve of stringing up a man and flogging him to death because he was gay.

Now mind you, I don't care what a person does in their private life...as long as they don't cause harm to anyone and I don't have to watch it.

So, NC wants to be more like Saudi Arabia. Whatever floats their boat. They'll be the gathering place for the cavemen and people that actually have arrived in the 21st century will live in places that have arrived there, too. You see, this is all going to be a thing of the past soon enough. I will see, in my lifetime, marriage equality in this country. Nationwide. The US is a bit behind the times but it'll catch up eventually. I'm not worried about whether this country will progress. It always has. And there have always been the forces of yesterday putting up a useless fight. Yesterday has always lost (nature dictates that it dies off) and tomorrow has always won. Tomorrow will continue to win no matter what minor set-backs it encounters along the way.

I just lost respect for Clint Eastwood.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."
