When you say a household of 8, is everyone a dependant of your parents (for tax purposes)? Just because you live in the same household, does not mean you or any other member of your family are a dependant of your parents. Depending on your answer/explanation, you more than likely cannot just combine everyone income in for the affidavit of support.

oh thanks. I just started working so ill have to wait until next month but it takes a month with the upcoming fees and nvc receiving my case so I have a good time to do it since i get paid weekly also.

There are a total of 8 people in my household so I'm going to add everyones income becuase both of my parents work, my two sisters and my self.

This is most likely a very bad idea. Living in the same house is NOT the same as being part of the same household. Portraying a situation where your husband becomes the eighth member of a household including at least 5 other adults is NOT likely to help to convince a Consular Officer regarding the public charge issue.

Thank you God. I have been waiting for this day for ever. I got my petition approved on Monday but i just received my email this morning!! So excited! The only problem is that I just started working on Monday too:) I am going to be receiving $400 weekly which sums up to $19,200 yearly but on my previous tax returns, I was making less than $15,000. Does anyone know if this will be a problem?

Congratulations!!!!!

The only people depedant of my parents taxes are my two sisters and brother. My older sister has two kids and she works and lives with her spouse but she still uses our address as hers. That is why I included her.

I am not dependant on my parents and can't claim so either because I am married now. I was told that when I applied for school fall.

My parents together make 33k a year and I would be making 20k

Congratulations!!!! :thumbs::thumbs::dance::dance:

:) thanks alot

congrats :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

Based on what you provided, your parent's household is 4 (Mom, Dad, brother, sister). If you were to use your parent as the co-sponsor for the affidavit of support they would need an income of $33,762 for a household of 5 (which includes your husband). You can't combine your income with your parents.

Since you meet the minimum 125% poverty level which is $18,912 for two people, you shouldn't have a problem. You can always add other assets (i.e. bank accounts, but be sure it has been there awhile not just recently deposited) on the I-864. I wish you the best of luck.

If two sisters and a brother are dependent on the parents then the household size is 6, not 5, requiring the parents to earn $38,712. Neither this petitioner or anybody else in the family can combine income with the parents under these circumstances. Again, meeting the minimum is not an assurance of being accepted with respect to the public charge concern but they WILL consider the totality of circumstances including, potentially, the earning potential of the immigrant.

This is getting humorous (OP please don't take it the wrong way). I've lost count, do you have 2 or 3 sisters? I was basing it on you only having two sisters, with the older one just using your parents address but not your parent's dependent. If your do have 3 sisters, then I agree with Pushbrk.

It's okay :) I have three sisters but one is already married so she is out of the picture.

Both my parents work and my brother and my other 2 sisters depend on them.

Then your parents are of no help to you in sponsoring your husband.
