Hi, I'm filling out the I-751 for my wife (August 19 2011 is her expiration). I've collected the following:

  • I-751
  • $590 check
  • Green card (front and back on one page)
  • two years of tax returns
  • two banks' statements, two statements each (four statements)
  • Joint health insurance plan
  • My wife listed as beneficiary on my company's plan
  • List of updated residences (we've moved since we applied)

Is this a sufficient packet? Also, in regards to the green card, I printed it out after scanning, and it's huge: it completely takes up one page. Is this an acceptable format? Or do I have to make it look like original card size?

I appreciate all your help! I'm hoping to send this out via certified mail with delivery confirmation to the Vermont center Wednesday.

Here's to hoping everything works out!

tax returns are ok. but it is better if you get tax transcripts three years from the IRS.GOV i hope you filed jointy, you need some utility bills to show your address living togather copies of your drivers license showing the same address, some pictures togather, did you take any trips names on boarding passes.you need to show relationship married togather evidence for two years.bonda fide true marriage.

I scanned and then printed my green card. And it was huge too! I don't think they mind it. So far no problems with the ROC..

Your list looks better now.

But I would still add a few more documents if you have it as suggested just to be safe :)

Thanks to both of you!

We definitely filed the taxes jointly, but because we're in the NYC area, neither of us have renewed our driver's licenses for ages. The addresses are not up to date (and neither of us drive or have a car).

In addition, I have two jobs, and my wife has none (studying). While she is listed as a resident of the apartment, she is not liable for (nor listed on) the rental lease should (god-forbid) anything happen to me. Likewise, the bills are under my name to reduce my wife's liability. When I thought about it, having two people responsible for a bill didn't seem logical. While it's great for evidence and I wish I did it for that, I didn't like the idea of my wife being on the hook for all the things I handle. I don't even like her worrying about money. So, while she has a copy of all my credit cards as a cardholder/authorized user and not an account owner, I'm the only one responsible for the bill.

All usernames for joint finances (like credit cards) are a mix of our names. I don't know if that helps.

Long story short: I can add credit cards, but we haven't been on any joint trips. We frequent NY for walks, dining, etc, but because she's knee-deep in studies, taking a trip hasn't been on the agenda. There was one trip to South America, but it was cancelled because I got a new job. I have the receipt for that, with both our names and everything. Can I use that and just say it was cancelled because I got a new job at the time?
