When I get asked where I got my accent from (which on the long run started to annoy me) I answer that it is from Wisconsin

Unless the person is from Wisconsin or knows anybody from Wisconsin it's kinda fun.

Nobody never asks me, "where are you from?" Not sure why. And thank God everybody understands me and I understand people, that is what matters. lol

But... :ot2:... I think it's better be safe than sorry, so, in case I need one day, I can show my passport card. Must be because most people in Brazil people are used to carry their IDs everywhere. Here I don't walk up to the corner store without my PR card. :)

Oh and the other day I read about a naturalized US citizen who was stopped by the Police and they didn't believe he was a citizen, I don't remember if he was arrested, maybe not, but if he had a passport card he would have the proof right there.

Certificate of Citizenship is what you get at the oath, but it's pretty big and you cannot carry it with you all the time

I do not carry a passport card with me. Just saying "I am a US citizen" is enough. Well, just in case, I have a scanned version, a PDF, of my certificate on my smartphone.

I was NOT suggesting that he/she carry the CON on his person. I was simply giving an additional tip.

I was not replying or referring to your post. In fact, I just read your post now. Of course, you make copies of your CON before sending the original out for the passport application. That's what I did as well.

I was replying to the original poster saying that a scanned version of the CON can be stored in the memory of a smartphone in case you deal with an officer insisting on proof of citizenship.
