Hi all

Need some help on how to proceed in this case:

My interview went well on March 30th as I thought everything was approved but until today (May 21st) I still did not receive any notice or update.

I asked about EAD renewal on the day of the interview and the Officer said to not worry about it and that I had plenty of time. Now my EAD will expire on June 12 and no news when I call 1-800 or go to a info pass.

Now I don't have enough time to file a new I-765 and I-131 as suggested by the info pass guy.

He could easily go talk to the Officer specially because now I live 3hours away from the USCIS office so it's hard to go to a info pass.... This was a week ago and I still didn't hear back from them.

What you guys suggest?

Thank you!

Well you need to file a new I-765/I-131... it'll be free of course but it's your only choice aside from an INFOPASS which won't really do anything anyway because you're waiting on approval.

Topic has been moved from AOS from a family visa entry to AOS from a Work, Student & Tourist Visa entry as OP's profile indicates an H1B status involved.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

You could make an info pass appointment and bring a completed I-765 and I-131. At the appointment ask about the status of your LPR card and let them know the prior guy said you didn't need to renew the EAD. Then ask if the IO will accept the new forms and try to get your documents renewed quickly.

I doubt they will be able to help you but it's worth a shot if you're worried about losing a job.
