We finally have the visa and he's coming tomorrow, but we are unable to find temporary insurance coverage until we are married and he is covered under my policy. We tried some trevellers policies, but they say he is ineligible because it's not just a trip where he'll be returning, but a move. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!!

Immigrants cant use travelers insurance. They need short term immigrant insurance.

Have a search with google because VJ keeps removing links that I try to post to help.

Is it because he is coming on a K1 visa or is it because you told them he is not leaving?

I had no problem getting short term travel insurance. Just gave them the first day of coverage as the date of arrival and the last day as a few days after the anticipated marriage date.

Also you may want to ask your insurance provider if they cover domestic partners. This year my employer provided insurance does not actually require you to be married. Only that you not already be married to someone else and state to them that you are in a longterm relationship. This was to cove gay and lesbian couples who could not get "married".
