When I tried to check my status online today, this is what i get :

It was reported to us that your IP address or internet gateway has been locked out for a select period of time. This is due to an unusually high rate of use. In order to avoid this issue please take this opportunity to create a Customer account (single applicant) or a Representative account (representing many individuals, such as lawyers, charitable groups, or corporations). Each account allows you to generate a Portfolio of receipt numbers.

Building a portfolio containing your receipt number(s) eliminates your need to manually enter the receipt number and extract each case status. You will automatically be emailed changes to each case as updates occur. This email notification will occur within 12 to 24 hours of any progress made for every receipt number contained in your portfolio.There is no lockout feature associated with your portfolio and there is no wasted time on your part checking a receipt number where no advancement has been made.

It happens when you check too often. You are not the first--others have reported the same problem.

Have you created an account (or a portfolio as they call it)? Or do you just enter your case number manually everytime?

I have created an Account. and I hardly check my status... probably once in day I would say.

Well that is certainly strange. I check mine a good 10-20 times a day, from the same IP address and have yet to get that message.

I wonder how long a "select period of time" is. Keep us updated for when you are allowed back in, k?

The only thing I don't understand is this: When I was on K-1 Journey.. I used to check my status online every other second .... and never had this darn messege... WHY NOW????????????????????????? URGGGHHHH !!!!!

It was probably your fault they had to start doing this!

Maybe it's a good thing! Not being able to check.

I sometimes hate even more that I can constantly check to see if there are updates.

I'd almost rather be in the dark until it came in the mail. But alas, will-power ain't me strong suit.

I used to check mine every hour or so. I dont bother now. I have my NOA2, Embassy have my file, I have my packet 3 ready to go and STILL my staus on line says it hasnt been touched since August 11th!!!!!

At least this gives hope to all those who havnt been touched for AGES!!
