LOL you hit it on the head. We are genlty debating cheaper hotel to stay longer or more expensive hotel and shorter stay?? Of course my Nigerian sweetheart , is pushing towards the first choice cheaper hotel longer stay  .. and I understand, but I want it in a place where we can still move around with out a lot of taxi's and worried about saftey. I really don't like having to debate over money, so I'm checking everything out you all are sending me.. Hopefully we can find a happy medium..

Peace,

Chi

Tell him he has some traits of Ijebu in him (Ijebu is my tribe and we are known to be thrifty).

The way I see it is cheaper hotel, not necessarily longer stay, but another visit when Enugu finally reopens. If you do it right you won't care where you are at for the first 48 hours (L)(F):wow: maybe then :help::lol:

And afterwards he should be showing you the sights of beautiful Lagos.

The hotel we stayed at was Splendor Suite address Oriche Street opposite airport hotel Ikeja. Paschal says it was N6500/night. I believe there was a lounge there (bar type). They have room service but it is pricey and not so great. Room prices range from N4500-N7500/night. They have their gen on all the time when there is no power. Although, when I was there last (some idiot didn't turn the gen off before putting the fuel in and that caused it to break down. :( Luckily they fixed it, but it was a few days later.) I have stayed at this hotel each time I go to visit. There are local restaurants and bars within walking distance. This is more local and not luxury like on VI, Lekki or elsewhere. The rooms are small, but you have a shower, fridge, fan, phone, tv and a/c. I stayed here for several weeks with my fiance. If you walk to Fadeyi Street there is a bar with a vendor close by that sells the best suya around!! There is also a vendor nearby that sells roasted yam. It's close to computer village.

During my first visit (20 days) we stayed at Hotel Lawa on Borno Way in Lagos. (N144,000) The food was good, facilities were clean. Lukewarm water but they had very little power outages and continuously kept fuel in the generator.

It was more inland, but you could walk to shop, we ate often at Sweet Sensation (which was good and had a great atmosphere). It was also close to several banks....all within walking distance. What's a visit if you can't blend in a little and really experience the life of your spouse?

My second visit (and marriage to my husband), he rented an apartment and set up house for me. He is still there so I can visit anytime without the extra expense of a hotel. He rented for two years. When he comes home we are moving his mother into the apartment. So I'm going to spend a little time with my family again before bringing my husband back home to meet the rest of his new family.

Good luck to you! Have a great time!
