I am an American citizen living in Washington DC, and wish to have my girlfriend from France live with me for a yearish. We are looking to possibly get married, but I think it's necessary to live together for a long period of time first before making such a commitment. Here is the issue, I'm not sure what type of visa she would require. She would like to get work as a nanny or perhaps maid work, but I'm not sure if she needs a promise of an employment to come here first. I am financially secure and even if she didn't work, it would not be an issue but she really wants to. Can anyone help? Thanks a lot in advance.

no such visa allowed for you to live together before marriage. You can file for a k-1 fiance visa, and if it's approved you must marry within 90 days of her arrival to the US. If she wants to get a work related visa the employer has to sponsor her.

not possible to work, without ead, permenant resident,or a company sponser, she will need a b/2 visiter visa to visit you if she has good ties in her country a job, chool. house, least, money in the bank, s to show that she will return to her country, if not she won't get a b/2 visa to visit you, you can get a k-1 -1-129f visa fiance,e it should take about 5 to 6 months to approval then the interview if approved you come to the united states you have 90 days to get married, if you don't get married then you must go back to your country,

How much money do you have?
