What Ryan said + it'd be great if you could email the Embassy, regardless, to let them know you would need an extension; so you can have a hard copy of your request and their reply.

Hello,

I need to send letter for a I-797 extension request to US Embassy in Moscow.

My expiration date is June 5th 2012.

Where do I email or fax extension request to the MOSCOW embassy??

Thanks!

Your timeline doesn't add up. You received NOA2 back in Feb and you have not yet scheduled an interview?

And, once the Embassy receives the petition paperwork, the expiration on the NOA2 is meaningless...they have the petition and have full control over it. Nothing for you to do except worry why you haven't scheduled the interview.

We have not schudaled interview, this is correct.

This is reason why I was asking about where to send letter to extend I-797 date another 4 months.

I have email address to consular at Moscow embassy, sent email yesterday, planning to call my tonight, Moscow morning to see if where I sent request is sufficient.

From all I have read it seems to be not a problem to extend another 4 months.

Back in 2009, I emailed the Embassy multiple times and always received an answer or made interview changes via that medium.
