Hi there,

I am glad to find this website to talk about the visa denial issue. I had a problem to get the Visa from AIT.( American Institute in Taiwan ) Can anyone help ? I was grant a volunteer departure. It looks like there is some sort of bad record on my file. I do not know how seriously AIT is going to look into my problems. If you can send me a note and let me know you would like help, it will be thankful. Please communicate with me in Personal message.

Thanks

The forums are here to help you. When you use PMs, other, experienced members cannot verify the truthfulness of information given. Please communicate in the forums rather than by private message where possible.

We need more information to help you. But in shoert yes, voluntary departure is better than deporation but will still mean a "bad mark", and most likely a waiver needed.

- What sort of visa were you in the US for before?

- how long did you overstay/ why were you given voluntary departure? When was this (ie how long have you been in your home country now)?

- What paperwork if any did you sign/ is there anything written in your passport?

- Why do you want to return to the US now, and on what visa?

- What has the AIT to do with it?

to the OP - maybe you should use the 'advanced search tool' here

and then you can refactor a bit, as you learn more,

then you will be able to write up some pointed questions in a forum topic.

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I would guess very seriously.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
