She has to be accepted and enrolled in the school an get the papers from the school. Your sister also has to prove that she can support herself and pay for her schooling as well as that she will return home after school is finished.

You cannot do this for her, she has to do it herself.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

There is no max or minimum age. Yes, you can be the financial sponsor, but she'd still need to show ties to home, ie reasons she will return after her studies. What do you plan on having her study? College fees in the USA are very expensive compared to most foreign countries.

The fact she has a sister, who is a resident in the US will reduce the chance to obtain a visa. You can use your financial info to apply for a school (to obtain acceptance, no problem) but when she goes to US embassy for an interview, then she has to show her ties to her homeland by herself.

Has she been studying a US curriculum?

How are her English language skills?

hey penquin! im thinking of getting her here to go to high school, public high school should be cheaper, dont you think?

Not really, because she would need to pay economic fees- unlike for a greencard holder or USC, school will not be free for her. You are looking at $20'000+ per year; private school can be cheaper, depending on where you live.

Green card holders can only sponsor spouse or unmarried children. Only US Citizens can sponsor their siblings and there is a limit to how many visas are available for this category each year. So you would be looking at at a few years of waiting even then

Last time I looked it was 11 or so.

I am sure it would be a lot cheaper to take ESL classes in Cambodia.

Dyna I would sugest u become a citizen first and then move from there, but the wait for sis/bro is 10 yr+. let her apply for a visitor visa, let her come and see how it is then go back home. some ppl on here dont know wat there talking bout. ive been in your sis situation , went to high and graduated. so best of luck. just my opinion.

International student will have to pay the fees out of their own pocket and would not be covered by the state.

The amount can vary from school district to school district – which OP can check but its not going to be cheap.

I could be wrong on this – for someone coming for high school student only gets one year visa at a time and renewal is required every year.
