I got my drivers license in Virginia and I got it for 1 year. All I had to show them was my unexpired I94, my passport, marriage license, bank statement and my unexpired Ontario, Canada drivers license. When I get my green card I will go back and get my license for a longer period of time.

We showed the exact same documents as you, including the unexpired Ontario license, but he was only issued the 3 month license.

They must have decided he could only have it for the duration of his I-94. The DMV was only supposed to issue me a driver's license for the length of my conditional GC but instead they gave me a 4 year one. :bonk:

Let's just hope that his AOS will be approved soon. :)
