LOL I'm sorry but I just got a mental picture of Zimmerman observing the 911 center.

"The 911 operator picks up the call. What is your emergency?"

Yes, there's a suspicious person in my training class.. I'm tracking the suspect now...

Ok but seriously... From everything I've read it's been called the police academy that he had enrolled in. How are you sure it's this one they referred to and not the certification program?

In Dec 2008, Zimmerman applied to attend the Citizens Law Enforcement Academy. He offered info that he was arrested July 2005 in an incident involving undercover UCF officers.

He was accepted and completed the program

the second link is a letter confirming his acceptance, that calls it the citizens law enforcement academy.

I couldnt copy and paste it.

It seems other articles I've read alluded to him being dismissed from the police academy. So that article seems to set the record straight as far as that goes. Thanks also for the article for another reason....it makes me even more certain he's completely crazy and a wannabe cop. That's just not a great combo in my book.

It doesn't matter, according to those who support Zimmerman's 'act of self-defense.' As long as he 'feared' for his life, using lethal force was justified, whereas Martin couldn't have possibly feared for his life, he had a big glass bottle full of iced tea for protection which he didn't bother to use on Zimmerman while trying to kill him with his only free and bare hand.

It would be interesting if the situation had turned out differently. What if there had been a struggle with the firearm and Zimmerman had been shot?

He would have been taken downtown, given a drug test, questioned briefly until they got his results back and then charged immediately with murder. He'd be getting ready for trial already I would imagine. Why would anyone think he didn't kill Zimmerman? Zimmerman was the great neighborhood watchman hero.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Be careful, you wouldn't want to bolster an insanity defense

I highly doubt I would be in danger of influencing a decision regarding this case lol I am just stating my opinions. Just like everyone else here does. I'm kind of hoping they will televise the trial (just for curiosity) but then again...I remember the Casey Anthony trial (which fascinated me), but the media being there really did create a mess being there and getting everyone riled up. And this case needs anything BUT more riling up.

I've wondered if that's why the two of them were in a scuffle. But that would mean that somehow, Martin found out Zimmerman was carrying a concealed weapon and if that was the case, how would he have known unless Zimmerman drew his gun? I asked earlier if anyone could explain how Zimmerman would have been able to unholster his gun and aim into Martin with deadly accuracy if Martin was on top of him, pinning him to the ground and bashing Zimmerman's head into concrete? I think that is why the lead investigator did not believe Zimmerman's version of the events, because they seem either too incredible or outright impossible to do.

On a side note, the autopsy report shows that Zimmerman's blood was found under the fingernails of Martin, so if Martin was in fact reaching for or fighting for control over Zimmerman's gun, I would imagine there'd be matching lacerations on Zimmerman's gun hand. Martin only had two hands and his glass bottle of ice tea was intact, and we know that he was talking on his cell phone at the time of the confrontation. That fact, in of itself makes it incredible to believe Zimmerman's claim that Martin was the aggressor, or at least to the point that Martin was set on causing grave harm to Zimmerman.

If he had an arm free, he could have pulled it and rotated it at the same time while firing. He was shot in the chest right?

It would be interesting what type of holster he had, I assume its probably an inside the waist band type and not a pocket version.

Ok, something else I just saw on the evidence pictures. A first aid kit at the crime scene?? WTH? Where did that come from? If that was Zimmerman's, who in the hell carries a first kid aid around with them like that? I'm really scratching my head about that one.
