This case reminds me a bit of the Duke Lacrosse team fiasco. The state prosecutor lost his job over that one and got sued to boot. I haven't read up on the Crown Heights riot but I'm going to do that now. Al Sharpton is a slime ball and then some.

Not only did he lose his job, he was disbarred and found guilty of criminal contempt -- only to serve one day in jail. What an f'ing joke, that clown Nifong was willing to sail those young men up the river for years, totally f'ing up their lives on a false rape accusation, all to further his career. Another case of circling the wagons for those employed within the system.

Yeah Kip, Crown Heights is another one of his finer moments. This is a quote from "Not So' Sharpton during that event, "If the Jews want to get it on, tell them to pin their yarmulkes back and come over to my house."

"The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps!" - Eleanor Roosevelt, First Lady of the United States, 1945.

Would pulling back one's clothing or jacket to make visible your gun to the person you are in a confrontation with be called brandishing? I honestly don't know, but in any case, if Martin found out that Zimmerman had a gun during their altercation and had no idea who Zimmerman was or why Zimmerman had followed him, that would be justification for Martin to defend his life accordingly, by any means necessary.

What you are saying is martin knew zimmerman had a gun and he attacked him. Then we can rule this action a suicide.

Section 16-246 Brandishing a weapon.

(a) A person commits the offense of brandishing a weapon when the person exhibit s any deadly or dangerous weapon in a rude, angry or threatening manner to any person in the city or go es into any courthouse, church, school or any other public meeting carrying a deadly or dangerous weapon.

(b) For the purposes of this section, the term "deadly or dangerous weapon" means any weapon other than a firearm, from which a shot, readily capable of producing death or serious physical injury, may be discharged, or a knife, dagger, billy, blackjack or metal knuckles .

© The provisions of this section shall not apply to police officers and other officers or persons whose duty it is to execute process or warrants or to make arrests.

(d) The crime of brandishing a weapon is a class A misdemeanor.

(Code 1964, § 7.1170; Ord. No. 018042, § 1, 4-19-04)

You are still trying to make the case that zimmerman stalked martin ....shot him down like a dog. Ran through the streets with his gun out. Just more liberal hype. Please post where zimmerman broke any laws walking around the housing tract looking at people. By all accounts Martin attacked Zimmerman. Zimmerman "FEARED" grave bodily harm.

"an intentional act by one person that creates an apprehension in another of an imminent harmful or offensive contact."

This is after Martin knocked Zimmerman down and started beating him. Everything we know about this case up to this point shows this.

If more citizens were armed, criminals would think twice about attacking them, Detroit Police Chief James Craig

The liberal elite ... know that the people simply cannot be trusted; that they are incapable of just and fair self-government; that left to their own devices, their society will be racist, sexist, homophobic, and inequitable -- and the liberal elite know how to fix things. I'm guessing your posting on this thread yet you don't have a clue about this story. I mean why would you be posting on something in regards to the Zimmerman - Martin shooting yet not even know the background of this?

Who do you think made a mint off of going down to Florida and start a big racist thing while having photo shoots of himself and the parents ? Try Rev. Al Sharpton. I'm pretty sure you don't have a clue about ol Rev. Al's background. Google "Tawana Brawley" so you have a better idea of what Rev. Al is all about.

Now do you know who Eric Holder is and who his boss is? Do you know why Eric Holder got involved? Maybe you should check up on that before you post on any Trayvon Martin threads.

Now google what Obama said about all this. Do some homework, get a clue and then come back and post on this thread. But for now it's obvious with that post of yours I quoted that you really don't know what any of this is about.

I love this argument. I've heard it from you countless times and it's adorable. I've read all about this case, I know of Sharpton's involvement (I think the guy's an ambulance chaser, don't care for him at all) ... yet, I wasn't asking about him. I wasn't asking about Sharpton's history or Sharpton's quotes. I commented on the Al Sharpton obsession. His name is brought up so, so often, even when unnecessary. I've been called Al Sharpton just for questioning the "facts".

You said Obama said it was self defense. I asked you where it was that he said that, because I hadn't seen it, and instead of providing me the information, you'd rather just make a couple of vague insults about my ignorance or lack of intelligence. I guess that's 'easier' than answering a question.

The worst thing about Sharpton is that, if there is a case of real racial injustice, his being involved makes it less believable. Plus, it then becomes more about himself and publicity rather than being about justice.

I absolutely agree.

There's great irony in misrepresenting what another person on this board has been arguing while trying to argue that said poster is misrepresenting the evidence. I'd suggest you go back and read through the thread if you're having difficulty with comprehending what other posters have been arguing.

Are you trying to say this isn't uncannily similar to the narrative you and other "in the tank for Treyvon" pre-judgers here have tried to create? Sounds right on the mark to me. I've seen the terms murderer, cold-blooded, hunted, cornered, stalked, nut-case, cop wannabe, racist, rage, and a plethora over other complete cr_p that has been passed off as "looking at the evidence" countless times by the ususal suspects..... And of course there is the ever-irrelevant "skittle plea" (read: plea to emotion fallacy)....

lostinblue pegged you, and it piss-s you off. Progs like controlling the discourse, and it's not happening here.
